So functions as a de-facto one year deal that still keeps him paid.   Pretty much as expected.

The Browns do not seem to want him beyond this season, do they?

I mean, throwing a ton of money at a WR who has hit the 30 mark is a dodgey proposal.

He's so damn good still, though.

It makes sense, they're doing it with the other position groups as well.  Once you hit 30, it's basically a series of 1 year deals.

And that's OK.  If he plays well and the prognosis for next year looks good.  Sign him up again.  At this point in time, we need him.

I'm surprised it took this long - Cooper was integral to their success last year. This is great news.

I'm not surprised this dragged a little but a great sign having him in camp.. Most older vets usually like to sit out until near the mid/latter part of TC

Yes.  Good point.  And I'm sure that this isn't the type of deal that Cooper had in mind.  But he signed it to stay with us and in time for the start of TC.  Kudos to Berry...but bigger Kudos to Cooper!

I don't think it means they don't want him past this season.  It means they don't want to commit past this season.  If they want him next season, they will make an offer.
