seems Mike is time traveling. So Eddie Johnson days to go

Runningback James Brooks of the Cincinnati Bengals taunts linebacker Eddie Johnson of the Cleveland Browns after a 1 yard touchdown run during a game...

I worked in the college game room at Baldwin Wallace, Eddie Johnson used to come in all the time to play pool. They guy was real nice, and a great pool player.

Thanks for sharing that Bob!  Just hearing something like that makes it easy to understand why Eddie emerged as a real favorite here.

Bobby Mitchell wore #49.

That's Ernie Green.

As a kid  I  was kind of ticked when  Cleveland  traded away  # 49  to Washington in  1961.   Jim Brown  +  Bobby Mitchell  were a dynanite running combo  ....  oh well.

MEANWHILE ...  Under pressure to integrate the team by the U.S. federal government, the Washington Redskins selected Ernie Davis with the first overall pick of the 1962 NFL draft.   However, Redskins owner George Preston Marshall, wary of Davis's potential salary demands, traded his rights to the Cleveland Browns for Mitchell and first-round draft pick Leroy Jackson.    Unbeknownst to anyone at the time of the draft, Davis had leukemia, and died without ever playing a down in professional football

Wow, that is an amazing photo.

That's the Indians original home, League Park, before most of it was torn down. That's the left field bleachers and the scoreboard in dead center.
