Bench trial still pending (thanks to Cheeto's stupid lawyer) to see how big the fine is going to be. But it looks like Cheetos won't be doing business in New York anymore. Get your checkbooks your cult leader needs more of your money. Been a good year for holding assholes accountable.

Judge rules Donald Trump defrauded banks, insurers while building real estate empire | AP News

Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general, found that the former president and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing.

Engoron ordered that some of Trump’s business licenses be rescinded as punishment, making it difficult or impossible for them to do business in New York, and said he would continue to have an independent monitor oversee the Trump Organization’s operations.

And truths.

Like Cheetos is going to have to sell off whatever is left of his businesses in NY. Seems the fine is most likely to be over the 230 million. But hey he still has his pension for being president and cult of morons to give him money. 🤣

Still waiting for the all Caps post from Cheetos, so I can have yet another good laugh.

“In defendants’ world: rent regulated apartments are worth the same as unregulated apartments; restricted land is worth the same as unrestricted land; restrictions can evaporate into thin air; a disclaimer by one party casting responsibility on another party exonerates the other party’s lies,” Engoron wrote.

“That is a fantasy world, not the real world.”

Seems the judge is talking about your world....

Ooohhh... a little whataboutism for ya...  Care to talk about George Santos? OTOH- numerous Dems want Menendez to resign. Santos from the MAGA cult? Crickets. so shove it.

"What happened with George Santos?

In May, he was criminally charged on 13 counts; the federal indictment included charges of fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds, and making false statements (Santos pleaded not guilty to all charges)."

Got the read Cheetos response to losing yet again. Always great when reality smack him in the face. Repeats the same arguments that got his lawyers sanctioned for using over and over again. Again, the conspiracy theories and stupid rants that morons accepted here, do not work in a court of law. You have to have actual evidence. 😆

Looking forward to the trial. See if the lawyers used the same arguments again. 😉

Not only that but he's crying about someone we'd like to see punished as well lol. Is Santos even Trump supported or is woody being woody again? Can't have a debate without talking about his idol.

You mean other than all the grand jury indictments, elections results, court rulings, jury verdicts. You know where evidence has to be real. 😁

But hey, when reality doesn't meet your expectations, "the derp state did it!" - the catch all for morons.

If you apply to a bank for a loan, the bank/insurance will establish a value for the property, independent of what you value it at.

The suit was filed by the AG, not the banks, insurers or investors.

Sorry the court disagrees with your talking point. Your point is actually debunked by the judge in the ruling, including the references to the laws Cheetos broken and the previous court cases that show you are wrong. But your feelings are noted.

Standing and Capacity to Sue Defendants’ arguments that OAG has neither capacity nor standing to sue under Executive Law § 63(12), and that the disclaimers of non-party accountants Mazars insulate defendants, invoke the time-loop in the film “Groundhog Day.” This Court emphatically rejected these arguments in its preliminary injunction decision and in its dismissal decision, and the First Department affirmed both. Defendants’ contention that a different procedural posture mandates a reconsideration, or a forfiori, a reversal, is pure sophistry.

As this Court and others have made abundantly clear, “[i]t is not disputed that the Attorney General is empowered to sue for violations of [Executive Law § 63(12)].” People v Greenberg, 21 NY3d 439, 446 (2013) (finding Executive Law § 63(12) to be broadly worded anti-fraud device); People v Ford Motor Co., 74 NY2d 495, 502 (1989) (“Executive Law § 63(12) is the procedural route by which the Attorney-General may apply to Supreme Court for an order enjoining repeated illegal or fraudulent acts”).

Oh, poor baby. Your feelings are noted, again.

Actually it's a rough choice, I would rather somebody else from the Republican Party won the election and things settle down but I have to admit I would enjoy seeing him for another 4 years with a republican majority in the House and Senate. Maybe Trey Gowdy has an attorney general.

One good thing about another 4 years of Biden or any other Democrat will be that the United States will get closer and closer to being a third world nation and maybe we'll qualify to get out of the EPA regulations because we're now all of a sudden an emerging Nation?
