If you disregard the semantics in the beginning of the piece in the first place I think especially in the entertainment industry black people are most certainly overrepresented. Especially today. Not that those artists aren't extremely good it just is. With today's Hollywood new affirmative action guidelines (where there are so many black centered films forced onto the screen regardless of profit) advertising standards it's way over the top. There are almost no white actors in the commercials during an NFL game. In television drama series there are usually more black doctors Etc then there are in the demographic for that profession. Ironically probably less Indian and Middle Eastern doctors than they're actually are. Most Network newscasts have more African Americans than the 13% of the population they represent. Again not that they do a bad job. As far as being more likely to get pulled over yes that's probably true and while it's unfortunate it's understandable. When 13% of the population commits 50% of the crime they're going to be looked at in a possibly unfair light. Communities have laws about pit bulls even though of course pit bulls aren't the only dogs that maul people. I do think in certain situations example an NFL team given the choice between a black and a white quarterback with reasonably similar skill sets might go with the white guy because 80% of the audience is white and like it or not people do feel more comfortable among others with their same background. I both believe and am disappointed by the fact that this problem is exacerbated by people who profit from the discord and by pandering.
