From this morning's 1440 news.. BTW, 1440 stands for the number of minutes in a day..

800,000 Deaths

The number of reported COVID-19 deaths in the US is projected to pass 800,000 as early as today, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. The mark comes one day after the total number of reported cases hit 50 million. Globally, more than 5.3 million deaths have been reported.

Roughly 75% of the deaths in the US occurred in patients 65 years and older (see data), a figure that represents about one in every 100 older Americans. The current number of deaths in fully vaccinated patients is unclear—the most recent data through early October suggest more than 90% of deaths occurred in unvaccinated patients. Roughly 61% of the US population has been fully vaccinated (not including booster shots).

In related news, follow-up on the first 43 investigated cases of the omicron variant identified in the US revealed one hospitalization and zero deaths. Thirty-four of the patients were fully vaccinated, with the majority under age 40.

Scientists have said the strain may cause less severe symptoms but have cautioned against drawing firm conclusions as of yet.

Separately, the first US COVID-19 vaccination was administered one year ago today.

It's the end of me caring about it. This all ends the second people put down their phones. The thing about the internet is that it allows a tiny minority to control public discourse by not shutting the fuck up.

Here try this and for the purposes of this experiment don't look this up:

What percentage of Americans do you think are LGBTQIA+? Just go with your gut and throw a number out there.

 1.5 percent ?

You're actually underestimating. Since no one else guessed I'll just say. It's 3.4% but because they're loud on the internet people routinely overestimate their numbers greatly. Wildly guessing between 10% for conservatives to up to 25% for liberals.

That's the power the internet has over things. It's possible to make people believe 1 in 4 people is gay or under their constantly changing umbrella. It's extremely possible to manipulate people like that about any given topic if you're loud and aggressive enough.

If people want the "pandemic" to end the first last and only step is to take their phones away. Otherwise the people with vested interests in controlling narratives will continue to control them.

There's my contribution to this experiment in the social behavioral understanding of the world......or is it just the USA ?

This is about nothing but power at this point. Not trying to get it...they've already seized all the power it's possible to have without a military dictatorship but keeping it. If they ever admit they lied, or were wrong they'll lose their grip on the power they're drunk on. Oh sure the pink haired queer zoomers and the incel antifa crowd will always be their foot soldiers but there's far far less of them than the internet and media wants you to believe. If they ever admit they lied there's likely to be an open rebellion that they can never possibly hope to win.

If it came down to armed conflict citizens don't have Jack schitt compared to the Army. But it won't. Closest we're going to have is violence raped looting destruction;  just random and aimless evil, not rebellion . As far as these people issuing more mandates on everyone I think it will just come down to folks refusing to do it. Seriously what can Biden do? Send the Army to kick in people's doors and give them tests?

Every guerrilla war in history has proved that to be incorrect. Also if it came down to it I doubt the army would be eager to go all Stalingrad on their friends and family for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and transgender acceptance and mask mandates.

I didn't say I thought the Army would follow that order.

Still I don't think a bunch of middle-aged tomato Farmers with squirrel guns and C rations in the basement are going to stage an armed Revolution either.

We are I like Cal great deal. I think that the protesters at the Capitol were just regular guys who were fed up with the b******* that the government had been feeding them night insurgents not revolutionaries.

( and even if they were what really makes them different then George Washington and his band?)
