Way to go Brandon!!

Biden signs $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill into law (cnbc.com)

President Joe Biden signed the more than $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill into law on Monday, checking off the first piece of his party’s sprawling economic agenda.

The package will put $550 billion in new funds into transportation, broadband and utilities. Biden’s signature follows years of failed efforts in Washington to overhaul physical infrastructure, improvements that advocates have said will boost the economy and create jobs.

The legislation will put $110 billion into roads, bridges and other major projects. It will invest $66 billion in freight and passenger rail, including potential upgrades to Amtrak. It will direct $39 billion into public transit systems.

The plan will put $65 billion into expanding broadband, a priority after the coronavirus pandemic left millions of Americans at home without effective internet access. It will also put $55 billion into improving water systems and replacing lead pipes.

Funding will go out over a five-year period. It could take months or years for many major projects to start.

Really too bad that it is not a real infrastructure bill by any reasonable stretch of the imagination. I guess that sounds better than free shit extravaganza.

WSS

A free shit extravaganza is exactly what it is.

Trump tried to get Congress to do the infrastructure bill, but they were too busy with impeachments and investigations.

Lets not forget, Dementia Joe said that the taxpayers won’t pay anything for this (that’s like honest honey….I won’t cum in your mouth).

Let’s see:

They are spending the same amount on Amtrak as they are the highways, yet there’s only a small fraction of the public that uses Amtrak.

There is roughly $3 billion going to ensure our nation’s prisons are getting the best broadband internet service…I mean after all you can’t expect the inmates to watch porn on a dialup connection.

Also there’s a blurb in there granting amnesty to the illegal aliens, and I have no fucking clue how that constitutes “infrastructure”.

No money for coal plants either. I see you found your single point to cry. Take 2 seconds out of your life and see how other develop countries use rail service. And how pathetic it is that why are so far behind other countries. But hey, don't worry your "news: sources are going to find the 1.25 million given to gay, socialist, CRT, immigrant bus driving training course. Then you can really get outrages. 😄

Great-great grandkids will still be paying for the tax cut for the rich long before paying for some roads. And one more thing. Count all the people you know that can't drink water from their homes. Count all the people you know that don't have access to high-speed internet. I know you are a trumper. You got yours, so fuck them, right.

They have money for the green energy companies? I thought we went through that before when Obozo was your Commandant? But we all know how that turned out.
So all Americans have to pay, so the citizens of Flint Michigan can drink water, because some shit for brains Dumbocrat made the decision to switch water supplies? (Fuck them…they broke it they can fix it)

Let’s take a peek at Amtrak service from CLE to Tampa Florida. The reason I’m using this comparison is because I’m traveling to Florida in a couple of weeks, and my trip is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes by air. (my trip also costs less)

So here’s the screeny from the Amtrak website showing 34 or 37 hours for the same trip to Tampa. Of course if you need me to explain anything about this trip go right ahead and ask. I’m used to explaining stuff to stoopid Democrats.

In the mid-90s l took Amtrak from Cincy to Washington DC. It was a neat experience, but definitely not the most efficient way to travel. If l remember correctly it took twice as long to get there by train than it would have to drive. We quickly discovered why during the trip as there were lots of pit stops in smaller towns on the way, and there wasn’t a ton of stretches that were long and straight to where the train could pick up speed.

Definitely scenic though. It took us through some neat stretches of Appalachia and followed the New River in WV for quite a few miles.

I think we’re just too big of a country for rail to be a viable travel option, but there’s probably parts of the country it could be better utilized, like in the east coast where the population is denser and cities are closer together.

There was talk a while back of building the “Triple C”, which was supposed to be a high speed train that connected Cincy, Columbus and Cleveland. Intriguing idea but l don’t think it had near enough support to become reality.

It is an ill wind indeed that blows no one any good. No doubt some of this frivolous spending will benefit the United States and some will be garden-variety graft. (You think some of the 'budget-conscious' Republicans that broke rank get a piece of this?) Of course some will be the usual society killing free s***.

I used to tell phone solicitors calling from some phony organization with names like like the blank blank of sheriff's police military blank that if they would mail me a list of their expenses and payouts I would send them $10. Usually the minimum wage grunt working the phones would get angry but one organization did. I forget who but I sent them the ten bucks because I promised I would. It was pretty funny the actual amount the charity gave to whatever group of bums they were supporting was tiny and there were expenses including automobiles entertainment Etc and other administrative costs totaling well over 95%.

Fucking hilarious. Massive tax cut for the rich, not a word about the debt it is causing. Cheetos Jesus putting 7 Trillion on the debt, not a word. But invest in the future of the country and boy do you guys cry and cry and cry. China is the manufacturing capital of the world, because they create the infrastructure to do it. Oh shit, I did it again. I started trying to reason with you guy as if you were just a bunch of cult members. My bad. You guys think Mexico paid for the wall and the tax cuts will pay for themselves. Bahahahahaa

Of course these lame talking points and cliches that you spew on a regular basis the reason it's impossible to respect your opinion. Unfortunately that's the modus operandi of most Democrats.

But of course China is the manufacturing capitol of the world because of many reasons. Not being gouged by ridiculous Union demands and very little attention paid to regulation puts them ahead of the United States. Not to mention the fact that the population has been starving for centuries and now a few crumbs cast before them seems like immeasurable riches.

But unless you're just stupid you can look back over president after president after president and see in which Administration "de rich" pay significantly more or less.

I'll give you a hint genius the tax laws are written has to make most of the rates avoidable and the rich manse accountants are aware of that.

Unions and regulations are not what is hurting manufacturing... Those are just two easy Boogeymen. "lame talking points" indeed.

Actually tax the rich like we used to and use that money to fund higher skilled training, skilled trades, etc. Use it to invest in renovating old infrastructure and modernizing equipment through incentives. Close company loopholes and utilize other means to keep production in the states. Fund higher education around advanced manufacturing research. Etc etc etc.

No doubt Woody. I'm sure that the millions and millions of piece workers in sweatshops across China are cranking out tons of plastic grey market products because of their associate degrees in marketing from the Beijing branch of Tri-C.

Of course I wonder how many Chinese get the opportunity to sit home and watch The View and get a check from Joe Biden?

PS people with doctorates degrees probably aren't working at the factory on the line. Just a guess.

Not at all what I was talking about. This is also the industry I work in. And I've worked in union shops, supervised UAW employees. I'm not gospel, but I have experience here.

But sure, whatever you said.

Look you insist upon being simply quarrelsome about many issues. I'm sure there are other reasons that China is eating our lunch. If you believe labor cost including benefits including regulations have nothing to do with Manufacturing and it all falls on the shoulders of higher education good for you. By the way if you really don't tell me what does? You guys demanded $15 an hour for the lowest set of skilled workers in America and nobody will do those.

I listed a handful of things. You chose to ignore them. I also never said pay has nothing to do with it but we don't have to necessarily be the cheapest. The minimum wage is long overdue for a raise. That's a separate issues.

Succeeding in manufacturingisn't just paying the workforce less...

actually you did you said specifically regulations and unions had nothing to do with it.

Wages and regulations certainly have an impact.

And I certainly didn't ignore at least a couple of your silly points. More money? Even a wider gap between China and the US? Good thinking. It's the one I originally mentioned for menial workers? Come on man. And more regulations? Didn't I say regulations were part of the problem? Your proposal to close the loopholes so that Americans can't Outsource will make American manufactured more or less expensive? While you're thinking remember that will make American stuff even more expensive. So, sorry, more free shit more higher education higher wages more regulations especially the environmental crap that the Chinese are asked to participate in.... and I know you believe history began 20 years ago but how do you think American industry got where it was? By paying top dollar to Highly Educated workers, or importing poor people from the South and Eastern Europe to work in the factories?

My local neighborhood MCDonalds is advertising $18 an hour plus a $1000 sign on bonus.

Looks like today’s kids think they are worth more than that to fry a burger, or pour a cup of coffee.

Doesn't really matter it will all be self serve through an app. Dirt balls that won't work for 15 bucks an hour won't work at all because Woody's Administration of choice will just send them checks. Pretty simple. Video game weed couch TV versus frying hamburgers and putting them in a bag.
