On my first visit up to the far north my pal (Alaska resident since 1975) asked him- "how can I see some eagles"? Answer... "I'll take you to the city dump, they're always hanging out there." According to him, Ben Franklin wanted our wild turkeys to be the national bird, much less of a scavenger than eagles. Reason why in that picture I posted, the semi-habituated flock (not afraid of humans) eagles were hanging out at the fish docks waiting for a handout.
