It is far more common to believe that it represented a form of capitalism, which is what the Communists and all other Marxists have claimed. The basis of the claim that Nazi Germany was capitalist was the fact that most industries in Nazi Germany appeared to be left in private hands.

How the Nazis Used Gun Control | National Review

The perennial gun-control debate in America did not begin here. The same arguments for and against were made in the 1920s in the chaos of Germany's Weimar Republic, which opted for gun registration.

just a tiny bit concerning?

I didn't write the articles - the concern is all across our country, at least in a small way, I think.

Going after our 1st and 2nd Amendments are the bigger immediate concern.

it's history.

Not even close really for either side. Neither was involved in mass murder of opponents the way Hitler and his cronies were even very early in his quest for complete dictatorial powers. And I'm not talking just a few key people either. There were thousands rounded up and "disappeared" not unlike what happened in some South American countries in the not too distant past. So your premise is an exaggeration of the truth behind Nazification of Germany. It's right there in chapters entitled "The Nazification of Germany 1933-34" and "Life in the Third Reich 1933-37" both in Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. Anyone who takes the time to read it can see the scale is far different from the reality of Hitler's Germany regardless of which side you try to compare.

Now what happened later in Argentina (a Hitler supporter in WW II) really was taken from Hitler's old playbook. That is a very real and appropriate comparison. Except Hitler waited to systematically murder children later in the war. Some 30,000 in Argentina "disappeared" of which around 500 were children. The rest were political opponents just like Hitler had done in his early rise to power.

Point granted, well done = except I stipulated that it was only PRE-WWII. That time in history, not the later horrendous crimes against humanity after they came to total power. It's just the similarities in ascension to power....

Agreed and that is why I stuck to Pre-WW II years of 1933-37. He still had thousands murdered during that time according to Shirer.

Duly noted. I know about the Night of the Long Knives - during that time. Obviously, that isn't a similarity - except in symbolism with the current radical leftist movement. Symbolically, many were killed, as you say, and many were arrested merely for being, or at least suspected of being, political opponents - what is going on now is reputations/careers are being "murdered" and "arrested" - and they attack political opponents individuals and groups alike. The similarities stand, but all terrible hell broke loose after they ascended to total complete power. Some folks who lived during that era have been outspoken about the beginning similarities.

There are some on the left who breach past the initial similarities though, today. Most all of us, with a few birdbrain exceptions, know about the "hitler youth".....

I mean, I'm serious," he says. Let's move on. In another part of the video, Weissgerber in his best Adolf Hitler/Joseph Goebbels voice, suggested imprisoning Republicans in re-education camps in order to help the country. "What will help us is when we send all the Republicans to the re-education camps," he said.
