So your premise is an exaggeration of the truth behind Nazification of Germany. It's right there in chapters entitled "The Nazification of Germany 1933-34" and "Life in the Third Reich 1933-37" both in Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. Anyone who takes the time to read it can see the scale is far different from the reality of Hitler's Germany regardless of which side you try to compare. Now what happened later in Argentina (a Hitler supporter in WW II) really was taken from Hitler's old playbook. That is a very real and appropriate comparison. Except Hitler waited to systematically murder children later in the war. Some 30,000 in Argentina "disappeared" of which around 500 were children. Obviously, that isn't a similarity - except in symbolism with the current radical leftist movement. Symbolically, many were killed, as you say, and many were arrested merely for being, or at least suspected of being, political opponents - what is going on now is reputations/careers are being "murdered" and "arrested" - and they attack political opponents individuals and groups alike.
