He floated the possibility of a major change in how highways are funded, such as by converting from the current Highway Trust Fund, which is paid for through the gas tax, to a “vehicle miles traveled” alternative that would tax drivers based on their road mileage. Until people switch to electric cars by enough numbers that they can charge $200 bucks for a yearly? pass to recharge your electric car. gotta have money to give all those illegals a free ride for votes.
