I did not start recent threads to bring us together, but rather to irritate the cal's of this forum. And as little chance as I believe there is to heal the divide that is all too evident here anytime soon, I have chosen to no longer actively contribute to it and prolong even the beginning of the closing of the divide.

 

Please note that I plan to fully exit the sandbox...

... just not going to throw sand any longer.

Well said Tour. I hang around in an attempt at promoting unity amongst you politically inclined folk. I try not to razz too much over here, which is hard for me, and some of you don’t make it easy.

I mean, it’s politicians. If you just lump them all together and view them all as sleazy in their own ways l truly think you’ll be happier for it. There’s far too much “your guy’s a bigger asshole than my guy” that goes on here. It’s like the the weirdest pissing matches ever.

It’s just a matter of trying to understand someone else’s perspective. You do that. And yes, the rhetoric is out of control. All Trump supporters are racists. All Biden supporters are commies. It all just needs to be reeled back a bit. 
 

The further the divide gets the more time and patience will be required to understand the other side’s perspective. And l really think we’re to the point where some have given up trying. And that’s when the rhetoric starts up again. It’s a cycle that must be broken.

Socialism has turned into a real trigger word in the media lately, but looking at the Merriam-Webster dictionary it says this.

We already have and have had elements of socialism here in the USA. Programs like Social Security, which at its core is basically a govt overseen retirement plan, is basically a socialistic program because it’s administered by the govt. Things like issuing permits and drivers’ licenses, eminent domain, and the EPA are socialistic entities.

I would agree democrats favor bigger govt, like boards and committees to oversee things, so in that they are more socialistic. I have a hard time believing they are coming for all our land and possessions though. 
 

I really don’t think any large group of people wants chaos though. Maybe some people way on the fringe with possible mental problems, but most people like order in their life. Who wants to go fill their car up with gas, but oh snap, someone blew up the gas station. Nobody wants that. They just wanna get gas so they can go to their girlfriend’s and get laid.

Then explain to me why they're funding Antifa and BLM along with George Soros... Are you really that blind??... Sorry... Your answer doesn't fly with me... I could buy the Demoratic platform if they would come out and denounce Soros, His son... And socialism and Communism... They have NOT!...

I’ll be honest, l only fairly recently learned who George Soros is. I kept seeing his name without really knowing what he was all about. The little l do know is he’s basically a sort of illuminati billionaire type guy, funding the end of the world by promoting division.

As best l can tell a great defense to that is to simply not allow him to do that to us. By talking and understanding and not allow anger over differences to take over. 

And l’ll admit, l’m not the smartest guy when it comes to political stuff. I just see an increasing divide amongst my people and would like to build a bridge.
