Ain't gonna happen. The smart Dems know that they have to be super-moderate from this point on. Conservative you might say. The country did not give a ringing endorsement, only a rejection of divisive politics. Priority #1 is the virus & economy. #2 fixing alliances. There will not be a lot of argument from Reps over either of those issues IMO, excluding the too radical right. It's time to reign in radicals from both sides. Neither should be running the country.

If dems were smart, they would stop being demosocialist commie politicians.

Actually they are smart Cal. They promised this shit to irresponsible dirtbags who unfortunately make up a great deal of the population. Democrats like most dictators preach socialism but they have no intention of following it themselves. It's merely a tool.

The doctor that tells you to lay around drink beer and eat pizza and you'll be just fine is always more popular than the doctor that tells you have to exercise and quit smoking.

What makes you think they need to or will get "conservative"?

What ideas so you consider "radical" on the left?

I'm genuinely curious

Start with her "Green New Deal". Where are the funds for it in the age of COVID?

If the answer is to reduce military spending and tax the elite more I don't really see a problem with that. I think what some consider "radical" and what the rest of the developed world considers radical are two very different things.

People say they don't want us to be the world's police anymore but we spend as much on our military as the next 10 highest spending countries combined (or something close to that). Conservatives talk about waste in government but apparently turn a blind eye when that waste is part of a bloated fighter jet bdget.

Hey, I own stock in that company with those new fighter jet contracts. That's a low blow to the middle class.😂😜

Again woodpecker I can't consider myself a Christian. I also don't see most of the people who loudly Proclaim they are Christians behaving in a fashion I would consider in line with what I think the parameters are that keep me from claiming it for myself. So there's that. Do I think people who blaspheme because they think it's cool are hip and wise? No not at all.

Neither am I a gun nut though I own a couple of firearms. But even though it wouldn't affect me that much I still don't want that right taken away from Americans. I have similar views on other Freedom's which we are watching Circle the bowl.

As far as loving America? Sure even though my allegiance if I were forced to decide would be to my friends and family and Neighbors. Territorial loyalty  it's a thing.  That's why I love the Browns and I hate the Steelers. But yes those of us who share the American Experience have historically made this a great place to live. And I think if we are going to bestow those benefits on others those others should be deserving. (Just like there's a big big difference between a customer at a fine restaurant and someone who breaks in.) If you steal a car he shouldn't get warranty service.

I also think politicians that preach socialism in order to gain more power and riches for themselves are hypocrites.

Who do you tax when the elites get fed up and leave, who do they tax next?

I owned a successful tax business for 15 years, and I had to take annual tax courses at nearby Universities (I chose Kent State).

We had an Accounting Professor go into great detail why this strategy doesn’t work.

You just nailed one of the bullet points.

Typical university brainwashing

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that she had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on this plan”. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars — something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you’ll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

  1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
  2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
  3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
  4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
  5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
