That was a question not an accusation. So just for our purposes I'm using the term free shit as social programs or giveaways (Medicare for all extend Public School 4 more years forgiveness of student debt large increase of minimum wage Etc, ) I'm interested to know what other ideas and or policies Senator Sanders proposes that have captured your imagination. WSS I personally don't want free shit. I mean if I retroactively get some money back for the loans I already paid off, great. But I don't need anything free. I'm doing well. Bernie is consistent. He's basically an independent. He doesn't take shit from people. He won't be bought. Etc. (A lot of the things I liked about Trump). But unlike Trump, Bernie also isn't a giant asshole. Won't make a fool of himself and our country on Twitter. And we align more on policies like realizing climate change is an issue, not a "hoax invented by the Chinese" Millennials have also been fucked by student loan debt. That while system needs fixed. I think it's insane we have individuals in this country right now that can't afford life saving medication. Or need to choose between meds and food. Also, I think we spend too much on the military and we don't tax the extremely rich enough. Them and their corporations use way too many tax loopholes. You have a great job now and are benefiting from a Trump economy. But lets say even best case scenario that after Sanders puts our economy in the toilet and you survive the the lay offs and cut backs you will be paying so much more in payroll taxes. Somebody will have to pay. There is no free lunch. Somebody will have to pay for medicare for all, the disastrous green new deal and college for all. College grads won't mean much when there are no jobs available. It is simple when you take away the incentives for successful people they stop trying. When you only punish the successful business person they stop building new businesses. What incentive will they have when they will not be rewarded but punished for doing it? And it will be a double slam on job creation with not only higher taxes but new burdensome govt regulations that will kill new job creation. Wages are up because there are so many new jobs and employers are forced to pay higher wages to get and keep employees. This kind of a situation is better for workers than any union will ever be. I am old enough to remember working in prior recessions and it is a terrible situation for workers. I remember one employer say in an employee meeting one time during the Jimmy Carter recession that he had a stack of job applications on his desk and if anyone didn't like their job then "don't let the door hit ya on the way out" and this company treated employees with that attitude. I'm not in the position I am because of a "Trump economy". (Which, again, has been heading upwards since Obama's second year or so and is now slowing down). I have the skill and qualifications for a role that would be available to me regardless. I'm not concerned about all of this going away if Bernie were elected or whatever crazy scenario you're envisioning. Based on his own website, my tax rate won't change. No shit there is no free lunch. But there are people not paying their share of that lunch and lunches being bought that we don't need. No driven, successful person is going to give up because the tax rate is slightly higher. They're still going to make an obscene amount of money if they're successful. This scenario those on the right pitch is just not true.

You complained recently about how difficult it was where you worked at to get good new employees. That people actually were not showing up for job interviews making hiring more difficult. That is the result of Trump's economy. Because jobs are plentiful job seekers can be more discriminatory in selecting employment. It may make your job more difficult finding new workers but is great for job seekers. If you do not believe your taxes will go up under Sanders you are fooling yourself. His economic numbers do not add up and you have to know that. It will be an astronomical cost just for his medicare for all and someone will be paying for it. Your skills should help you in an economic downturn but I wouldn't say anyone would be recession proof. I won't argue that some are getting tax cuts who are making obscene profits. Bloomberg and Bezos come to mind. I still see the greater good of the tax cuts for small businesses. And it is human nature that a business owner will not expand their business, risking their own capital to expand their business without seeing a pay off for their effort.

My role and the position I'm personally in hasn't been greatly affected. The current people I'm hiring (other engineers) probably haven't been greatly affected. But yes, when I hired shop floor operators it was difficult to find skilled candidates. But that has a lot to do with skilled trades just being shunned overall. I don't think any one president can come in and do whatever they want. I think the effect a president has on the economy is overblown. I think you've read or watched plenty of things telling you how doomed Sanders numbers are without any of those people really knowing or looking into it. "Without seeing a payoff for their effort". What are you talking about? There will always be a benefit to getting bigger and making more. A higher tax rate doesn't remove all incentive to succeed. That's just some right wing nonsense. Just like the idea that these billionaires are taking all of that low tax, tax loopholes money and reinvesting it into everyone else. Trickle down is a joke the elite invented to keep people in line. Here is an article from the late liberal George McGovern. McGovern was the Bernie Sanders of the 70's (not a socialist like Sanders but extremely liberal). It was not until he got into business for himself he saw first hand how destructive his legislation was to business owners. He lamented that if he knew what he had learned as a business owner earlier he would have been a better legislator. I give McGovern credit for saying this. It is one thing to learn economic theory at a university versus actually being a businessman and learning real life lessons. https://www.newsmax.com/frantarkenton/mcgovern-small-business-owner/2012/10/22/id/460970/.

Governments don't make rules and regulations for business owners and what's best for them. They make these regulations for the greater good. It is harder on a business to enforce safety regulations and prevent dumping waste into a pond. Obviously. But those rules aren't there to help businesses. Socialism sounds noble but history has shown it to be a failure while capitalism has proven to provide the highest standard of living for it's citizens.. The early church (not speaking of Rome) but the early churches of the bible had a form of socialism where they spread the wealth around and it worked in the early church. But it does not work in the world. What you see in Russia, Cuba and recently Venezuela are what you get when the world tries to practice socialism. At one time Bernie actually called Venezuela the new American dream.
