Ibleedbrown
I'm tired of close games and moral victories No moral victories that l know of. Just saw my team battle their ass off. The Cysko Kid
You're eating a big shit sandwich week in and week out and you're complaining about a little piss in your Wheaties? Well that's your prerogative I suppose.
Mark O
How about I demand my team get better for once rather than play the lovable loser unto eternity Go ahead and demand all you want. I'll enjoy the games each week and not be all pissed off over something I have no control over. It was a fun game and they did battle their ass off and we have been a whole lot fucking worse. bbedward
We had a Broncos team that was having a down day and we blew it. Simple as that, we had the opportunity to win and blew it.
The Cysko Kid
How many times are you going to be content with a 5-11 season because we "battled"? That's why the browns never get better because we, the fans, who pay all their salaries are content with mediocrity.

calfoxwc
Sure, the Browns lost, but they are missing a couple of star receivers that get open quickly, like Denver has. They couldn't get to Peyton because he threw the ball way too quickly, and he has receivers get open... although, the one or two times sanders pushed off wasn't called.... as well as hideously flagrant oline holding..... and the cheapshot late hit/helmet to helmet.... at least the refs called the flagrant facemask.... The Browns left all they had out on the field, McCown made a few big mistakes, Peyton Manning made a few big mistakes... it was a hell of a game. I just wish Flip would stop running the ball so much on first down... and the announcers also noticed, they take Barnidge out, and it's a run... come, Flip, mix it up more... The Browns came very, very close to a win. Hell, YEAH ! dammit.
Opal312
I disagree. Outside of their defense their offense is last in many categories. We should have won this game. Manning now gets a reprieve until a good team pressures and sacks him. John Fox left Denver because he knew Manning was done. You'll see, a good team will beat them easily. Clevfan4life
i'd be all for a competitive loss. Being neck and neck with one of the best teams in the NFL, if you had asked me earlier in the week, I would have thought that sounds great. But that close loss doesn't do anything for me cause it was more or less the Broncos playing ugly too. Look those were great plays by Dansby and Mingo, but they in no way shape or form make up for another game exhbiting the same problems. If that was Manning of 3 years ago all of us would have gone out for a long walk by halftime. Did any of our guys ever get within shouting distance of Manning? The Broncos were sniffing McCowns after shave on every play. We cut their primary edge rushers loose against McCown, how on earth are we supposed to get an elite QB to come here when year after year after year we fail to build an offensive line that is even avg. Cause avg offensive lines don't get their qb's killed this much. Watching Browns qb's run for their lives year after year after year is a theme recurring in seeming perpetuity since 99. Why on earth draft a qb high? What's the point? So we can watch the next promising college talent run for his life and die horribly in a Browns backfield while the rest of the league looks on in dismay as said young promising talent that could have made the league alot of money................dies horribly in a Browns backfield. To me that problem is even worse than our current defensive problems. If you protect your qb this bad week after week, nobody worth a damn in the most important position on the team, wants to come to cleveland or get drafted by them. Well that's your prerogative I suppose. I'm a Browns fan slick. Hardwired like hell. I gather you are too. You've seen games where it was evident the team quit on each other. Fucking heartbreaking. Did you see that today? I did not. If you saw what l saw, it's a step in the right direction. Sure, plenty of things l wanted to see that l didn't see. A frakin sack for starters. But l never saw this team quit on each other.
The Cysko Kid
So what I'm supposed to be excited we just blew it without quitting? We lost. All those moral victories only mean another loss in the loss column.

calfoxwc
Without a few star wr's ... defenses overload on the running game, and dare McCown try to win the game on offense with little fast guys. If Peyton didn't have his two big wr's.... he'd be toast. The defense had the wr's to cope with, plus stopping the run. Advantage goes to the Denver defense. I'm proud of how tough the Browns played. I like the old saying "the only guy who makes no mistakes isn't trying to accomplish anything". Denver is very fast on both sides of the ball. It's just dumb to bitch about no sacks on Peyton, when he has wr's to throw to so quickly, so often. He got rid of the ball immediately, because usually, he had wr's to throw to. There are some around here who would be happier if the Browns got hammered, say, 42-3 ... they aren't really Browns fans. The Browns left is all out there on the field, and it didn't work out, but it was close. I admire that effort. But they are seriously lacking a Dwayne Bowe type, one with a love for the game - that lends itself to often fighting a losing battle in the run game, especially when they keep running on first down so much. the bitching contest is just stinkin up the board. the team is really headed in the right direction, missing a few pieces. The Cysko Kid
I'm tired of trying to find the silver lining in losses. I'm no longer trying to moralize the loss into a victory. It was a loss. We'll drop further down in the rankings and probably end up in the basement of the north again. What's the silver lining? It was a close game? Close only matters in horseshoes and hand grenades. If we lose 11 close games we're still 5-11.
calfoxwc
and, nobody is accepting losing, we just have the nads to see improvement, and we love the Browns. some of you don't, you just want to bitch and whine. calfoxwc
Mark's right - if you don't have the heart to hang in there, go be frontrunners for some team that is already winning. Have a nice bitchy day if you do.

And if we find those pieces in the draft we'll inevitably lose other pieces. Because no one wants to play for a perennial loser. And that's what the browns are. A perennial loser. What's the solution? Who knows? Really who knows? The only place I can look at and feel good about at the moment is mccown. And how long is he going to last really? Two years? The oline might get him killed.
