Why many first round QBs fail

Was listening to the Herd and there was a guy talking about Qbs from college and why they do so poorly when rushed in to start in the NFL

Fact 1

90% of their throws are to first read receivers during college

In the NFL its about 30%

Fact 2

The defenses in college are so vanilla you can take the time to call the perfect play and send it in. The QB doesnt have to think at all. Pick and stick.

If you can download the podcast its worth a listen, the speaker..didnt catch the name had some great points about QB failures.

It was in the 3rd hour of the program.

All these facts affect all QBs not just first-rounders. First-round QBs succeed more on average than QBs from any other round.

Could be a good listen, but I think it's simpler...

College QBs look for open receivers.

Pro QBs look to who the D is giving them.

Carson palmer's done pretty well.

Isn't he in like his 26th season?
