THE BROWNS BOARD

UK Porn Filter

Comes in to effect today or soon. It's pointlessly easy to get round, both at an ISP and browser level, so it'll have no effect. I don't know why the government is bothering to interfere - parents can easily find ways to block their kids from going on websites.

Apparently the Australians spent $84m on one of their own, only to have it defeated in half an hour by a 16 year old.

Anything like this exist in the states? Are there even nationwide ISPs or is it more of a state thing?

Currently not that I am aware of, I am sure NSA listens to certain sites more often.

Though they have tried to pass a couple really bad internet laws in recent history, they have been met with protests and backlash that everyone backed away from them.

SOPA stuff, yeah, that made news over here.

Though reading the article it sounds pretty easy to get around...

Pointlessly so.

Nanny state nonsense.

Yup.

Can I get millions of dollars for this much easier solution?

Probably. Have a word with Tony Abbott.

When I was a kid we would sneak into our friends basement and look at old playboys from the father. Downtown Cleveland had a store attached to the Roxy Theater, a strip club that had these machines you could turn a handle and see a semi-nude strip tease. These kids got it made today, lol.
