Cal, You live in North Carolina, right?

I was on my way to play a gig near Myrtle Beach South Carolina and just got tired of driving. I stopped just before the border in North Carolina and got a cheap room and had dinner in the restaurant across the street. I have no idea what the hotel was nor the name of the restaurant. But what I remembered is that it was a little tiny hick town and all the people at the hotel and working in the restaurant were is kind and friendly as one might imagine they'd be in Mayberry.

I have to agree about the barbecue. I ate at a restaurant in South Carolina if you days later and the owner sat at the table with me telling me that this is North Carolina barbecue even though we are in South Carolina.

Sorry, Woody, yeah, Steve and I are in Ohio.

But while visiting our friends in N.C....we all went out to

the Cook Out.

Great shakes, great fancy burgers, etc.

I've been meaning to try those for ever. Does your wife make it all the time?

I was kidding about Balut. It's a duck embryo still in the egg, smells like sulfur. My wife makes the other stuff. I was forced to eat a balut when I was initiated as a CPO. Puked my guts out. Some people actually like them though.

My cousin lives in a suburb of Wilmington. Nice area. Outer banks, nice. Raleigh/Durham also. Charlotte has gotten too crowded I've heard. Very good southern food and ribs in NC though. Western NC has the mountains (east coast small ones) and is nice.

alut is good. Try the Kim Chee, or curry rice with fried egg on top. Also, the sushi is great.

Oh, I knew someone here was from NC

Alright, BBQ it is

Just avoid kim chee at all costs! That stuff is horrible.

I love kim chee. Used to eat it when I played rugby on Okinawa and breathe it on the oposing players in the scrum. Have a big jar in the refrigerator right now! It tastes a lot better then in smells by the way, lol.

I've been forced to eat it multiple times while living in Asia and visiting Korea - and you will *never* convince me it tastes good! That and Durian are the Retarded cousin of asian cuisine.

Koreans eat it for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go into an elevator in Korea and everyone is chewing gum, but you can still smell the kim chee. Also, the ladies say it makes a man 'strong', :) kind of like an natural viagra.

Tell me about it, you can't get away from the stuff. They sell it in the larger supermarkets over here as well, in quite large jars, and there's quite a large supply of them.

Well, I used to just watch the superbowl - but since it started at 1am, it was usually after getting home from the pub! But then I really just started getting more into it, understanding the rules a bit more, enjoying the whole vibe of watching with beers/wings/chips etc. So I picked a team at semi-random - I'm an Aston Villa fan, and Randy Lerner owns them too, plus my aunt is from Ohio.
