THE BROWNS BOARD

Sales Tax For Everybody!

Recommended Posts

Well friends and fellow consumers we've had it too good for too long I guess.

It probably won't be long before government decides that is time to close that loophole for the online sales people.

With that much money to be grabbed by a stroke of a pen I can't imagine how it won't come to pass.

My two questions are these:

How do you feel about adding 7 % to your Amazon purchases?

And how long will it be before the states with lower sales tax will Jack theirs up to whatever the highest in the nation might be?

It's an overall marxist style gov problem. Where, oh where, to get all the money to pay off

handsomely, those willingly to depend on you for their existence.

There is never enough money. I read where, in France, the tax rate on the rich is about 100 percent.

We'll see how long they have any rich. Get ready to have anything taxed. or in the case of the IRS,

get ready to be intimidated to not criticize the Obamao regime if you avoid as much as you can paying those taxes,

and God help us all if any farmers with cattle let them fart. Global warming taxes, you know.

Taxes on everything they can get away with. It's the same principle that Stalin used in taking all the food from the

breadbasket of Europe, the Ukraine, while starving out millions of innocent men, women and children there.

So let me make this clear. Tax rate for the rich in France is 100%. Do you bother to think about the things you write? Cysko

Yes, Cysko, I do bother to think about the things I write. Do you bother to

do a little research first?

No cal, I don't research the things you say. Who would have time for that? If in one case your insanity had some basis in truth that would be amazing and I would thank you for providing links to back up that you say.

Obviously something is wrong there. I can't imagine it standing for long...can you?

I didn't say do your research for my points, do research on your own. I just read a lot when I'm on the net.

...was just going my what I read on the matter.

Here is what I said:

"I read where, in France, the tax rate on the rich is about 100 percent.

We'll see how long they have any rich.".

Did you doubt I had read it? Then you could have simply typed it into your browser search window, and it would have come up.

IOW's, you really are trying to get nasty here and there on the board. Take a chill pill, dude. It won't last

forever, but it will do quite a bit of damage to their economy, I think. Margaret Thatcher was it?

"Socialism is a great idea until the money runs out" ?

I only get nasty to assholes like diehard. You can read that conversation in the drunk driving thread from beginning to end and decide for yourself who started to get personal and nasty.

You I antagonize because I feel like you can take it. You antagonize me and i don't get upset about it.

However you get plenty nasty to woody and I don't see you apologizing for it.

woody has clogged up a lot of threads with his inane, and weird one liners. And you should know by now,

i don't start the crap, but I won't be afraid to respond, either. Generally, over time, I decided that there were

libs on this board who had the sole motive of intimidating posters who weren't lefties, and posted conservative

stuff, and those suckers just wanted to run those good posters off.

But I'm pretty much on the money - you libs love to avoid any subject you can't win at, so you resort to

"ear biting", as in, lambasting any source that dared write about something, or the person who is the

host of a show you don't like, or trying to goad any other poster into submission.

I call it board self-defense. Now, you stfu with me, and stop being so inflammatory and vicious, and you and woody

would be surprised to see how reactions to your posts change for the better. I never came after you on this board until

you started your hateful crap. And you and woody have done it time and time again to other posters on this board.

You bash me for no good reason, because "I can take it" ? Okay. But you can't take the bounce back. Bad move.

Sure I can. I just don't appreciate it going personal because as we all well know we don't really know each other. So I can say "Cal you're crazy" but ill never ever say "cal your wife is a blank". Or "cal your kids are whatever" or "cal this and that about your parents" only a scumbag would do that.

And I'm not worried about how you react to my posts. If you stopped going "raaahhh! Marxist libs! Libs! Libs! You libs do this and that! Marxist Marxist Marxist lib lib lib" I could take you somewhat seriously.

Pro and con.

Probably the beneficiaries will be the brick and mortar stores that have lost ground to online marketing.

Also the state budgets should experience a windfall however I don't expect them to use the money wisely.

Budgets expand to eat up whatever you put into them. Most of the time I hesitate to give governments more money to spend at will.

The consumer will take the biggest hit as I haven't seen many standing stores give better service than you can get online.

The selection is much less and the prices will be higher there to pay a sales staff.

Another industry that will take a hit is the Delivery industry, UPS or Federal Express and the United States Postal Service.

Also consumers who don't live near major metropolitan areas will be penalized.

I don't suppose it will be great for the economy at large to add another seven or nine percent to everything we buy.

I have seen retailers keep computers around the store in order to price match anything you find on line. I think that was a good move.

It kind of evens out the difference between waiting three days for shipping or paying the sales tax.

Thanks for getting back to the subject at hand woody.

I agree in not being upset with the sales tax. There is no reason why there shouldnt be one. Also it helps other retail businesses that are subject to sales tax and therefore struggling in the face of the wild wild west of the internet. If there is a sales tax on the net the only incentive to shop for books on Amazon rather than at Barnes&Noble is the convenience of not having to go to the store.

Its not 7-9% more on EVERYTHING you buy, just online purchases.

I don't see any reason why there shouldn't be a sales tax for online goods

you already pay it on stuff you buy locally. Now you will have to also pay it for online purchases. That makes everything.

personally I like having a tiny respite from taxation, that's all.

your mileage may differ.

A. I understand. You've railed against me, and I don't cross that line, never have. I am pretty creative, and I can make up tons of different ways

to let someone know I think their posts annoy me.

And, I just see trends. When people who grew up in WWII Germany are worried about the way our country is being set up by Obamao and co....

why the hell should I think they don't have a clue? I have been a corp software programmer/analyst/business analyst for most of

my career. I'm analytical to a fault. I just see things the way I see em. And I see it more clearly as time goes by.It's just me.

And lunch is almost over, I have to get back out to the garden, and plant 60 strawberry plants, and about 50 ground cherries,

etc.

Oh, btw, online purchases taxed? Okay, I don't buy much online. I would like to have the cooking cd from Duck Dynasty...

but taxing everything to get more money for the state is oppressive after a point. That's why the global warming taxes idea

is wanted by statists in our government.

I thought you meant 7% more than what you are paying now on everything
