Guest
The question: Who is not on this list who should be on it? I will give this some thought myself. Looks like we are missing some linebackers: Dick Ambrose, Chip Banks, Mike Johnson ... Eric Turner is another guy ... Zombo

Good list. If I were going to add two next year, I'd say Web Slaughter and Mike Johnson. I think most of the guys you named will make it... The Gipper
When there time comes, surely JT, Dawson and Cribbs will make it.
Mark O
Thom Darden deserves to be on it. Still the career leader in interceptions.

I was going to say, we are starting to run out of guys....of that list Darden is a no brainer IMO....and maybe Turner. We did this too fast.....maybe a Cleveland thing, the R&R HOF is running out of worthy bands. Bernie as an example should be getting in maybe now, or just a season or two ago.....not 12-13 years ago. Larry Benz had a 107 yard int return.....maybe we should induct him. How about Ken Coleman or Gib Shanley....those guys are Browns to me.

I'll go one further and say Nev Chandler,,,He was IMO the best of the best browns play by play radio announcers.
ballpeen
I'll go one further and say Nev Chandler,,,He was IMO the best of the best browns play by play radio announcers. Maybe because you didn't hear or remember the others, but Nev as well for sure. None the less, we are running out of candidates for this ring. The more we add, the less honorable it gets. Since our return Joe Thomas and Phil Dawson are in,,,,,,Cribbs probably, but at the rate we are going Darren Chevrinni might make it.

Browns4life-1
I was reading an interesting article on RantSports today that debated weather or not Jim Brown or Otto Graham was the best Browns player ever. *Here is the link below* http://www.rantsports.com/nfl/2013/02/02/greatest-cleveland-browns-player-of-all-time/

The reason we are running out of candidates is because the Browns simply haven't had a sufficient supply of outstanding players in the last 25 years or so. True on the lack of fresh supply, but I don't think we are "running out" of legends just yet. I think we can all agree on Thomas, Cribbs and Dawson from the new era, and I think Alex Mack, DQ Jackson and Joe Haden are headed in that direction. and then as mentioned: Tony Adamle Abe Gibron Erich Barnes Eric Turner Webster Slaughter Chip Banks Thom Darden Bernie Parish Dick Modzewlewski Bill Nelson Dick Ambrose Dave Logan Reggie Rucker Brian Brennan Eddie Johnson Mike Johnson Matt Bahr There's 25 guys. If 20 of them make it, that's 10 years of two guys per year. Eventually every team's is going to slow down because you don't normally add two legends per year, but we were lucky to have so many in the early years. ballpeen
I don't know. Maybe we just do it to create some excitement. The Cowboys have 20 and the Packers have 21 in their's. At the rate we are going we'll have the stadium filled with names. We haven't won a championship in what, 48 years? We couldn't have had that many good plays in that time frame. Richiswhere
These are Browns Legends not Ring of Honor As good as Chip Banks was there is noway he should be considered a Browns Legend I'll throw in Big Daddy Carl Hairston into the list
The Gipper
Just curious: Who makes the decision about who goes into the Browns Legends, and is there any criteria other than "once played for the Browns"? Is there a requisite number of years they must have played here? Is there a certain percentage of their careers they must have played here? Several Hall of Famers had cups of coffee with the Browns...but I don't think any of them are in (Guys like Len Dawson/Henry Jordan/Willie Davis/Doug Atkins/Tommy McDonald etc.)

ballpeen
I heard Gib Shanley and IMO...he was boring and he stunk.
