Go to any steeler rag and you can read the same outside of the choice few that routinely stir sh.it up to garner additional readership. Lawrence Timmon's is the most recent Steeler to speak out about the Harrison fiasco and he himself says it's blown out of proportion with Ben and Rashard. He also indicates it was taken out of context, however in that same breath does say that Harrison really does hate Goodell. Can you blame the guy? Goodell has been a nightmare and unless he can repair his image he needs to resign over the next year or two. He's lost the respect of the players and that much is clear.

If this process continues and it will where exactly does the Steeler organization go wrong to justify any of the "meltdown" comments. I'd love to hear it. We had the 70's and the fall of the 80's. Unfortunately for your argument a majority of the 90's and 2000's has been nothing but success for the organization and there is zero reason to believe things are going to change. He himself as stayed out of the intense interview process for defensive coordinator jobs because the Steeler job has been promised to him. Although on the Lebeau note just how many players have moved on out of the Steeler defense to nonproductive seasons? The Steelers don't overpay their players and when they reach a point in their career where the Steelers don't feel they'll get a solid return they let them walk. Jason Gildon was on the back end of his career and they had his replacement on the roster. Porter was replaced by Harrison but even Porter has had success with the Dolphins. I love Dick Lebeau and he's a defensive mastermind BUT I still stand by you being completely delusional in this regard. Yes Lebeau helps but every star on our defense would be a star in a different system plain and simple to suggest otherwise is both short sighted and naive. We have at least two professional scouts, several sports writers, one sports talk radio host and a few with actual Steeler ties. What I'm repeating is only what I'm reading on my primary board and hearing through the grape vine in Pittsburgh. It's not made up, it's not "what I want to happen" but what is happening. James Harrison also isn't any different than any number of professional athletes at the top of their game. They can and often do get in trouble for saying something off kilter, ESPECIALLY during a slow time like the offseason and even more so now with the lockout. I still stand by the fact that the entire situation was and is being blown way out of proportion. Ben and Mendenhall are both cool and Ryan Clark recently tweeted that they're all brothers and brothers fight.

 

I think you and I both know this isn't going to negatively effect the Steelers because the Rooney's and Mike Tomlin handle business. As far as the latte portion of your post is concerned the Steelers have missed the playoffs and there wasn't a fan implosion. Pittsburgh is a sports town in a small market. The sports teams are a huge part of the city of Pittsburgh and the Rooney's are a close to gods among men as anyone in this city. They do it right, all the time and until the city is shown otherwise that's the soap box we all stand on. Wouldn't you do the same? Oh and I wouldn't look like such a "elitist" prick if a select few chose to engage in civil conversation without immediately going to juvenile name calling and routine cry baby bs.

I really do find it humorous that steeler nation keeps saying "oh this was taken out of context guys, come on". Frankly, I don't care about the comments and big gay ben, but how on the face of this earth can you make the statement "I wouldn't urinate on the guy to put him out" is taken out of context? I don't like a lot of people in this world, but I would NEVER make such a hateful statement. The only types that would are uneducated, disrespectful thugs who just have evil mentalities. I think all those words fit Harrison perfectly. Defend the man all you want for his play on the field, but call a spade a spade

 

Out of context with Ben and Mendenhall. No one is arguing against what he said with Goodell because he does genuinely hate the commish. In my opinion for good reason. He's systematically changing the NFL each and every season and the changes aren't for the better. He's also targeting certain players and when he does bring fines/punishments down they aren't the same across the board for similar offenses. I'd love to hear what some of you say about your bosses behind closed doors or in "good" company. Especially if your "boss' was on a mission to target hard nosed play or in your case whatever it is you do in your particular field.
