The survey, conducted between Jan. 25-31, of 4,098 adults revealed 66% were not satisfied with the administration and distribution process for the vaccine as the responsibility for it shifted to the Biden administration, and 21% said they are very dissatisfied. Meanwhile, 34% said they are satisfied, and 4% said they are very satisfied. Democrats, though, were more dissatisfied than Republicans: 51% of Republicans said they are dissatisfied and 49% said they are satisfied. 79% of Democrats said they are dissatisfied. 63% of independents said they are not satisfied. The poll also showed the highest percentage of people saying they are willing to take the vaccine since Gallup started asking about it in July: 71% say they're now open to getting a vaccine, including 9% who said they had had one dose. 91% of Democrats said they are likely to get the vaccine. 51% of Republicans say they are likely to get it. The poll included a margin of error of 2 percentage points. Biden, in a CBS News interview last week, said one of the disappointments during his transition to the White House was that "the circumstances related to how the [Trump] administration was handling COVID was even more dire than we thought." Nationally, more than 32.8 million people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, with more than 9.8 million getting both doses, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The condition develops when the immune system attacks platelets, a blood component essential for clotting, or the cells that create them, for unknown reasons.
