A lot of folks don't understand. The equipment, and maintenance, high cost of seed and fertilizer and diesel fuel, ... a new combine can easily run up about a half million bucks. We used to do a 6 acre field, and the seed for soybeans was a thousand bucks. Used to cut and bail hay.... filling up the barrel pump cost about 330 bucks, and that was about three years ago. It was fun, but the costs and profit dwindles for small farmers. The big farmers farm their own huge fields, other's fields, to make more of an overall profit. Let weather hit hard, and a lot of crop can get lost. Gas goes up, everybody's costs go up - the corn/soybean trucker to the mill, the farmer, the delivery of fertilizer/seed, ....the delivery out to food manufactures, the delivery of said food products to stores...... and trying to go organic - far more expense. It wouldn't take much of the apple cart to tip over to be a huge disaster. Which, would be just another failure of this corrupt bunch of hacks running out gov now in the wh. I still go out and stock up a little. Here is a GREAT book you can order on Amazon. It's just excellent, about 18 bucks....

Yep. I cringed when Baker was allowed, cleared, and went out there. Dang, that inspired the guys on the team. But it didn't work much. They didn't let Keenum play until they were out of the playoffs. Baker has the heart and soul of a champion. But injured? I would never have let him play that first game - I would have let Keenum play the rest of the season. Burrow is outstanding - but the Browns beat them twice last year, and twice this year. Baker isn't as tall, can't run like Burrow, yep. But the Browns can win with Baker. If Baker had Ja"marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd to throw to - and hadn't gotten hurt - I can imagine the Browns would have been in the playoffs again and advanced. The addition of Chase made their offense explosive. Even last year, Burrow had excellent stats, but they drafted 7th overall for reasons. The Browns can win with Baker - but Pluto is correct about addition a star WR to the Browns' offense.

It hurts the Browns' cap space for not drafting their wide receivers. Obj and Landry were about 14 million or more each, and hooper gets big money this coming season. The Bengals drafted all three of their starting wr's - Boyd, Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase. Paying top money to get a big name wr costs a lot more. And the Bengals would LOVE to have the Browns' offensive line. I just wonder if Hooper and Landry fit into their plans for next year, they cost so much.

Well, I drafted Crum out of Kent State probably a round or two early. But no qb this year - I'm not impressed except for Pickett, he'll be gone. I think they should sign another qb in FA though.
