  1. I think everyone should use this as the prime example of “tough guy” football coaching and leadership is over. Coughlin Tried to old school kick trash cans over type leadership with the Jags and he blew the whole thing up and had a literal mutiny as a result. gotta find that middle ground.
  2. Trust me, 22 miles doesn’t seem like much till you live down here. There are times if rather have a root canal than drive that in south Florida, even on the weekend.
  3. IMO? DE/OLB, any combination. I'm a staunch believer that QB and DE/OLB are a position you can't have enough depth at, and outside of Garrett no one makes me go "wow". Wilson has filled in admirably, and Kirksey is officially in the "can't be trusted" category. Definitely someone who can stand up and cover though.
  4. Put simply, you don't have the leading rusher in the NFL with a catastrophically bad line like people seem to think we have. As I noted in another thread, our line marks slightly above average most weeks, and the overall rankings is, IMO, skewed downward as we had 2-3 weeks with 1/2 our line out. Do I think and I would be happy if we drafted our next franchise LT? absolutely. I'm just not 110% that's priority numero uno.
  5. I won't at all be against taking a LT in the draft, to be clear. But in this regard, I'm 110% with you. Our line is consistently ranking "middle of pack" in week to week rankings. I'd argue their overall ranking via NFL (14th) is even skewed downward a bit as we were down 3? starters for two weeks early in the season. Your latter point has been the much, much more important problem.
  6. First off, we get it. Woo sah, as I like to say. Secondly, I bet you that Hunt will garner 20+ million dollars in FA this year, if not a little more (I'm actually interested in how the RB market will play out). Chubb is one year away from a Zeke, Bell, Gurley type deal which he has deserved. I think you're simply underestimating how much worth, dollar wise, Hunt will garner. A dude with essentially a year of less carries who can EASILY and has shown he can be a lead dog is spicy. As I believe you were already told, it makes a lot more sense to 1st round tender him as a RFA, which we can't do until the offseason. That would put his contract value around $5 million and we can see what the market is. If someone is going to throw the kitchen sink at the guy, we get a 1st round pick out of the deal. That very clearly makes the most sense.
  7. I'm really not sure how that alters my point in any way. IDC if the center is running the ball, rush yards are rush yards.
  8. I don't disagree that we should have been toting the rock more in the 1st half, BUT to play devils advocate we do have the leading rusher in the NFL. Our schemes running the ball with Hunt are honestly impressive. Here's the thing I'm going to say to anyone in the "running is dead" conversation. The top rushing per game by team? Ravens, 49ers, Seahawks, Vikings, Bills. Arguably the best two teams in the AFC and NFC and playoff teams down from there. Not a coincidence.
  9. I mean, the only thing no one is saying (thank God) is that if this was some advanced scouting don't the Browns look like idiots letting them do it? At least a bit right? Anyone, this is classic "boy who cried wolf" to me. Maybe that linked article is true, but I'm not going to buy it. Edit: Guess not-https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28261318/patriots-say-video-crew-filmed-sideline-bengals-browns-game
  10. This team is going to dysfunctional ass backwards itself to an 8-8 record haha.
  11. it's worth a shot, but Landry was very clearly behind the LOS when he caught that.
  12. I'm willing to admit that's an extremely weak pass interference.
  13. I completely agree with the announcers there. How does that get changed without a review?
  14. the browns and getting a unfavorable spot-name a more iconic duo.
  15. I’ll give Freddie credit for adjusting, but this should have been the plan from the first snap.
  16. Against the worst run defense in the nfl. Truly pathetic.
  17. The lack of discipline is the most saddening part, honestly.
  18. The amount of times two WR are almost colliding is shockingly high, that’s for sure.
  19. I thought the whole damn thing this year was a catch is supposed to be simpler. How does a guy with clear possession come to the ground with control and it’s not a catch? I’m so legit lost on that one.
  20. IDK if it's been said, but a bit more on topic. I'm not sure you could possibly point to a "worse" situation a young QB has been placed into in recent memory than Rosen. I'm not going to pretend I wasn't a big Rosen guy, but Allen (like Jackson) has been put in a system and organization who gave him a chance to excel. The Cardinals and Dolphins are the literal opposite of that.
  21. You're telling me the battle for Ohio isn't the national game! Romo is the man, I really enjoy what he brings to the table.
  22. Rivera is an excellent coach, my gut reaction is to say the same thing. I really wonder (strongly) what this team would look like with a veteran leader like Ron along with Freddie calling the plays.
  23. The biggest thing people need to see (or realize) in both Jackson's and Allen's cases is how important organization, coaching, and scheming are to the success of a football team. People quickly are forgetting Harbaugh was a bit "on the bubble" (which I thought was absurd) last year. The way the Ravens drafted these last two years specifically was built to play into Jackson's obvious God given ability to play the game. Unfortunately, we're seeing in many ways the exact opposite here in Cleveland lately. The reason we have 5 wins is strictly due to talent, but we're never going to "get over the hump" until we move into this mode of thinking,
