  1. I'm sure you've seen but: https://steelersdepot.com/2020/05/james-harrison-on-massaquoi-hit-i-would-have-tried-to-kill-him-if-i-knew-i-would-be-fined/ What a roided out POS. You know, it isn't about the dude hitting hard. It's about making the statement that you would try to kill someone on the football field. That sort of roid rage mentality is the reason I always hated and will still hate this dude. I'm not sure I agree with all the safety measures but I'm so glad this type of chicken shit play is being removed from the league. Funny enough, now he's saying he never paid bounty money but absolutely did not clarify when he overtly said the man handed him an envelope: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29179261/james-harrison-says-steelers-mike-tomlin-never-had-bounty-system
  2. Honestly, Kessler at least looked like an NFL QB on the field. A back-up/3rd string caliber dude, but at at least wasn't a total embarrassment. He actually was an extremely accurate guy within 10-12 yards, just had ZERO ability to push the ball downfield. Ain't gonna win with that type of guy anymore.
  3. kizer is a dude I feel bad for, certainly is the definition of being thrown to the wolves. but most importantly, the dude just sucked. His college game tape had literal Unwatchable bad tape. He was a 5th round project who got way overdrafted in a weak QB class. Remembering some of his throws still gives me nightmares.
  4. I was in the same boat with you, almost to the letter in terms of timing (except I was at Disney, not dive bars). Big reason I didn't visit the doctor was also cause I knew the answer was going to be "no" to the test (at least at the time). My primary sent an email blast that said directly you had to prove you visited international location(s), know someone with it, or have all four of the symptoms. So the option was to go to the doctor, be told I can't get the test, and possibly infect others? Very fortunately for me my work was aggressive in home work, and I had a mild cough (not like yours) for nearly the whole month of March, but definitely that compressed chest feeling. Fortunately never had that shortness of breath or fever, just that "bleh" feeling. I kept telling myself it was just bronchitis mixed with allergies (which I get terribly in March), and hell maybe it was. Just feels a lot more likely I had COVID. Again though, I was VERY fortunate my work went remote early, and I was able to self-isolate. I haven't been out to a store though since then, so going on six weeks. Instacart and what not have proven life savers for us with a baby at home. Happy to use it too, a lot of folks here in Florida are in a bad spot and are picking up those gigs.
  5. RIP. Certainly wonder if his wins record will be broken. Of course, adding a game to the schedule is an interesting wrinkle. Bill B. is 55 away at 68 years old. Seems like five 11 win seasons isn't out of the question for a team like New England, but of course we all know that dynasty may be over. I could easily see Bill riding into the sunset here soon. Next up on the active list is Reid (age 62) at 207. Approximately 12ish 10 win seasons away. Chiefs certainly seem to be set up at the QB position to have some good teams over the next decade. No one really makes sense from there on the active list.
  6. I’ll eat crow cause you were right on it. I don’t blame him, I don’t get why more dudes don’t take that route. Dalton will easily earn 20 mil to ideally ride the pine for 5 years. Sign my ass up.
  7. I just don’t get this line of thinking, it’s fundamentally baffling to me. Like, whats the argument? Who would be in favor of this being a hoax or made up or exaggerated? Idc what your political beliefs are. Doing rough math almost 20% of this country is unemployed, underemployed, or ya know dead. Who the fuck wins here? sure, America allows you to have your dumb opinion. But I’d love to get Austin on tv to explain his reasons. I absolutely guarantee you his response would break down to “I don’t want to do this for the betterment of others so I shouldn’t have to”. Such a sad state of affairs.
  8. I’m sure it was something about money owed. No one was going to take 17.5 mil to the face for dalton. pats can create a bit of cap space extending a few dudes, enough to get him if they wanted. If he wants to start I don’t see anywhere sale in the league that makes sense. If that’s the case I was reading pats could scrape up $10 mil or so. Crazy one to me is cam newton. My fear is he realizes he’s a backup now and goes to the logical spot in Baltimore.
  9. Yeah, this is certainly something I've thought about. I suppose football is easiest based on amount of times they play, but still not easy. In all seriousness though, assuming in the next 3 months we can mass produce tests, I'm okay with that being a thing athletes get. We need something to bring us all together, and we sports can be that thing. Yeah, for sure but who gets priority? The only thing that makes sense to me is like boxes are still available for the rich and then a random lottery every week. Season ticket holders get a guaranteed ticket or refund, which I'm guessing most would take.
  10. It definitely seems wild to me-I know you won't find me at a stadium. I thought okay, maybe you limit seating but how the hell would you do that? Disney is talking about only letting in 50% capacity. Just seems like it's a "no crowds" situation this season if they do play.
  11. Call me a crazy old man, but I think in this data driven world scouts tend to look past the very simple "eye test" of prospects. I'm a data-driven man. I think tools like the ones noted are neat to consider when evaluating mid-tier guys, or how to thread the needle on two similar prospects. You mentioned Kizer, and I think he's a perfect example of this. That dude when he looked bad on tape looked awful. I mean truly dreadful, and it was largely against elite competition. Meanwhile, you look at the tape of a dude like Joe Schobert (already miss him) and it's evident this dude is a football player. I swear, I think such a large reason New England has been so successful is they follow this to a huge degree. I'm curious to see how that safety they took ends up.
  12. If you find that magic hall pass, let me know haha. Daiper changes are the easiest piece of the puzzle, it's the whole "trying to do 6 virtual meetings a day with a crying baby" part that is fun.
  13. I have a daughter sir! 😄. I always appreciate some play on words, cheers.
  14. Thanks all-happy to share. Having a 4 month old in a global pandemic meant way less draft research but I like what he brings to the table. From what I know about him personally he’s also going to be very open to getting coached up. I love those types of guys (Does joe schobert ring a bell) 4th round or later.
  15. I noted this in the main thread, but I work at FAU and advised Harrison albeit briefly. Firstly, super nice young man. Always on time and humble. Trust me, that’s not what a lot of college kids are today. more importantly, I went to about 4 ish games (tailgated essentially a whole game so I suppose that doesn’t count). You guys do a way better job than I do about the prospect stuff, so I won’t disagree. BUT, here’s what I saw watching the dude play. Firstly, he was THE dude defenses schemed for. Our running game took a big hit with both motor singletary and his backup both going to the NFL last year. He was constantly shadowed by CB 1 and doubled. Secondly, QB play was well below par. There were so many wounded ducks we coulda started a sanctuary. other thing is that it was just obvious he was the best player on the field. That’s hard to explain but it’s just true. For a 4th round pick, I dig it.
  16. Hard to think KJ hill isn’t worth a flyer If he’s there.
  17. For sure. Also in the 4 or so games I watched I would at least 4-5 times he beat the man clean off the line and the ball was just bad or not there. As stupid as it sounds, when you watch FAU last year he was the dude that stood out. Clearly the best man on the field, top CB on the other team floating with him type deal.
  18. I work at FAU, Harrison is a really humble dude. A couple of things I’d say: he was the man on offense, and our QB play was well below average. The lane train made a bad call on the starter imo. He’s a great instinct dude but needs to get better in line blocking. A lot of those balls he dropped were wounded ducks.
  19. Firstly, he looks eerily simliar to Joel Bitonio. Much more importantly, as as been indicated he really played RT as he was protecting Tua's blind side. Seemed obvious in retrospect, but I'm confident the man can slide to LT with ease. I agree that I liked Andrew Thomas a little bit more, but I think Jed is a day one, anchor starter at tackle. So glad we didn't blink, exactly what the Browns needed.
  20. Curious to what you mean by that. TBH having a 4 month old kid working remote has lead to..less than usual draft research. Does seem like a boom or bust prospect, which I'm fine with taking latter round two/early round three.
  21. So where do we move on day two? Here's a "best players available" link: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001110697/article/2020-nfl-draft-best-remaining-prospects-available I'll tell ya, if Tee Higgins is there at #41 that's a super interesting one to me. I think Epenesa is a potential high-impact guy as well. Biggest need overall to me right now without a doubt though is OLB help.
  22. Eh, it’s pretty obvious nfl types don’t care as much about the weed. New bargaining agreement lowered bans specifically for it too. to make it clear I did not want the browns to draft him. High as balls or not, that doesn’t change that 6’8 370 pound man could full speed run at you at a 5.1 pace. That’s a GTFO the way if he’s lead dog on a screen.
  23. Man I’m glad how we drafted but good lord Becton is a grown ass man. Could you imagine seeing 6’8 dude running at you with 5.0 speed? Holy God.
  24. Had a strong feeling that was gonna happen. How he wasn’t consensus top OT in the draft was beyond me. Still would be pleased with Any of the top 3 guys
  25. All in on getting our anchor tackle with the #10 pick. Way I see it: Burrow, Young, Okudah, Herbert, Simmons, and Tua are going to be lock top 10 picks. I'm in on any of the top 3 tackles (in order of my preference-Thomas, Bechton, Wirfs). Assuming those dudes don't go 7-9, we get a day one caliber player at a key need. Don't over-complicate it!
