THE BROWNS BOARD

DA's stats in the snow against the Bills

Recommended Posts

Since our last snow game was against Buffalo, and resulted in a Browns win 8-0, here were DA's stats:

Completions: 9

Attempts: 24

Completion Pct: 37.5%

Yards: 137

Average: 5.7

TD Passes: 0

Interceptions: 0

Sacks: 1

Sack Yards: 7

QB rating: 57.1

Rushings Attempts: 1

Rushing Yards: 0

Rushing Avg.: 0

Rushing TD's: 0

Really a pretty good game under snowy conditions. No fumbles and no interceptions goes a long way in a low scoring bad weather game, especially since Jamal had 163 yards rushing.

You can't put anything negative on DA for last year's game. If you were at the game, you'd know why. You couldn't see 5 feet in front of you half the time, let alone grip and complete a pass. No turnovers was the key. He did that.

these stats compare as an average day for DA against an playoff caliber team!

Shit he had games like that this season in perfect conditions:

DAL: 11-24 114 yds, 45.8%

BAL: 14-37 125 yds, 37.8%

WAS: 14-37 136 yds, 37.8%

The more I look at those numbers the more in awe I am of the suckage. With his arm he needs to be completing maybe 5-6 more passes a game down field. If we added say 20 completions due to drops, he is still way below avg in comp % @ 51.3.

Shit man, what a let down.

Which is precisely the problem. Those numbers in a blizzard are ok. Those numbers in perfect weather are downright shitty. It is why it is baffling to me how he wasn't pulled from the Cincy game this year, the Baltimore game or the Washington game. It makes me seriously question what the head coach is doing when he allows a QB to suck that bad during a game and not even consider making a change.

Conditions were horrible... but I'm not sure 9 of 24 is ever good.

Didn't Brett Favre throw for like 5 TDs and over 300 yards in the SAME snowy conditions late last season? And Green Bay still replaced favre THIS season so people PLEASE get over Dumb As. He was NEVER Brett Favre.

And guess what's going on at Oregon State right now? They upgraded the brain cells at QB the day DA left school and suddenly there isn't a team in the Pac 10 that beats USC as frequently as Oregon State. Imagine that!

Thank God we didn't overrate Todd Philcox this much or Luke McCown for that matter. The DA story ends like every fairy tale with these two words: "the end."

jealous Flugs?

Remember when you used to bitch and whine that Oregon State was a school that could never win big time games like USC? Then you realized that they beat USC 3 of the last 4 times they came to Corvallis!! Big time whoops for you, eh flugs?

By the way how did Ohio State do vs USC? What bowl is Ohio State going to?

No, I'd be happy to compare how many National Championships Krenzel has won compared with DA. The Beavers lost 3 games right? I'm pretty sure Penn State considered Ohio State the better opponent but you can go on playing pretend. You're good at that.

I'm also pointing out how teams got better offensively when they replaced DA with better starting QBs. You lost quite a bit of giddyup in your rah rah lately - what's eatin ya boy?

Let's just hope that BQ doesn't lose to Buffalo which would make it obvious which Browns QB they'd rather be facing.

I am with Lumnutz on this one ....the Buffalo game was one of DAs better games last year. Why? Because the Bills D couldn't see the ball in time to INT it. If only DA could play every game in blizzards, he would be in the HOF some day. Not.

I gotta laugh at the girlie-boys we have here. They bitch, moan and whine about Lums, but can't stop keeping Anderson out there in the limelight as fuel for Lums.

You girlieboys don't have Lum's on ignore, you have the rest of the aspects of the team on ignore, including the defense and running game.

I'm pretty sure I reminded everyone of the impossibility of kicking 50 yd field goals in those conditions. Good thing our D got that safety. I guess all we can hope for is another 2-0 win, right?

Buffalo weather said snow accumulations under a inch, with snow showers possible...temp about 28, and winds in the manageable 10 mph range.

While cold, it isn't going to be blizzard conditions as it was the last time we played.

A 2-0 win is better than going 23-of-35 for 239yrds in a loss ... with or without a 4th quarter TD Drive.

Good point - maybe I need to include Stanford because 100% of their players and fans would tell me they'd much rather play Oregon State. If that doesn't work, we could look at the polls. If that doesn't work we can go back to comparing National Championships and/or BCS appearances. Either way, sucks to be you one more time.

BTW, the FIRST opponent BQ faced said they'd rather face DA as mentioned by the fellers broadcasting the Thursday Night Game. It doesn't take a genious to figure out why. I'm assuming you didn't put the commentators on mute until AFTER you heard that. 30 points later - dey wuz right.

Dumb Ass usually does all the dirty work for our opponents. When he's throwing INTs for TDs - we really never had a chance to see what our defense could do to defend a lead because he was too busy treating Ratbird defenders to TD passes. Although a couple of those suckers followed some INTs of the rookie QB in the first matchup. He had the right concept with TDs but the wrong TEAM, which pretty much solidified every football soothsayer's prediction "Beware the Ides of Football Season." DA was O-for-Roethlisberger and O-for-Flacco. Looks good on you though.

If I ever wanted an "Uh-oh QB" - DA would be my guy. I don't though. I'd prefer a QB that can complete more than 37% of his passes against Buffalo so our means of scoring can exceed a bad snap on a punt by Buffalo. Those were the winning 2 points last time. DA's compliments were for throwing the ball to the wrong area code so frequently that he couldn't get intercepted. Hey, at least he kept his passes out of Canada right? God bless ya! Have fun rooting against Cleveland tonight.

that's over 15 yards per completion. AKA.... going vertical.

BTW, BQ couldn't crack 10 yds per completion on a balmy evening vs a hobbling Denver D who had 5 starters out, 1 day to prepare, and a 2 time-zone plane ride.

And it is quite obvious that DA won't be cracking anything other than the crack of his ass riding pine!!! AKA "Backup!!!"

Just as an apples to apples comparison, Trent Edwards (a TRUE ROOKIE) had the following stats in the same game:

Completions: 13

Attempts: 33

Completion Pct: 39.4% (better than DA)

Yards: 124 (just 13 less than DA)

TD: 0

INT: 0

Sacks: 0 (better than DA)

QB Rating: 50.6 (in the same ballpark)

So, what are we giving DA kudos for in this game....outplaying a ROOKIE in his 7th start?

Anyway, who cares. The fact is DA is on the bench...the weather is NOT going to be this bad...and we are the underdog big time this go round!

Guess you don't read all the other threads on the board ;)<_<

You know, all those threads you, Lum, and Sev don't dare post in. The ones on D, running game, and coaching.

You mean these threads?

Oh and the other thing all these threads have in common? Not one post by you or any of the others who whine that we don't discuss the other problems with the team enough.

And I'm not going to let up on this either. And if you're next whine will be that yeah we're discussing these things now that Quinn is starting, Well with all the bouncing from board to board, it would be hard for me to go find the threads as easily as this. But you KNOW they were there.

Damn. You Got Served!
