We do need playmakers but it is clear to me that the QB position regardless of who is the qb is NOT the most detrimental. Anderson was horrible but so was the entire offensive team and playcalling. This game and the one against pittsburgh in two weeks are good comparison samples against the same exact team within the year the team can see who is better to lead the team next year offensively.

Anderson should be selling cars in Oregon. He sucks.

Third down conversions were a serious issue today. They would get themselves in decent position and then screw up on third and short. That together with the defense screwing up when they had third and long made for a terrible game. And why are we still so terrible against the run!

Diehard I dont think Anderson was playing good by any means but than again neither was the rest of the offensive team. Looking at the sample games against the same team Anderson at this point demonstrates the offense is more productive with him on the field versus Quinn. We will see after the Pittsburgh game which statistically against the same teams in the same year how the production of the offense both as a unit and individuals compare.

I still hold to the position that Quinn is not an NFL level starting QB and that he hurts our entire team both in terms on not being able to sustain drives and his tendancy because of his accuracy and arm strengh

(not the long bombs but the 15-30 yard tight throws) that he hurts our offensive production in rushing and passing.

Again, we have to just admit that the Browns stink. The entire team is horrid and there is not a QB in the world that could succeed here. The Browns should not have won a game all year...........that are just that bad.

Cribbs sucks as a reciever, or should I say ..still sucks as a reciever. he's innefective in the WildDawg. Harrison falls down when a fingernail touches him. He's afflicted with the dropsies too and I now understand why he was inactive last week...they should have left him there. Jennings looked tenative hitting the hole. ..I would have liked to see him get a few more touches... Jamal lewis is STILL our best runningback and that's pathetic. The pass protection was lousy. Run blocking was decent... The playcalling was ok except for a couple 3rd and longs where we were too conservative. Quinn was hot and cold.. threw some very nice balls but was behind the recievers too much.. recievers still need work reading the defenses and when to cut off routes... they don't know the offense well enough yet(momass/stuckey) . Why Cribbs is on the field as a WR instead of Furry is baffling.. Cribbs is terrible.

Defensively the run defense is pathetic for the 11thousanth game/season in a row. The secondary did pretty darned good.. Our pass rush was better. If we don't get some defensive ends next year it will be more of the same.. teams just run the ball and run clock on us. In our division we must get better in the front 3.. and front 7 overall..but our DE's are pathetic. They got pushed around all day in the run game. Kept Palmer to 107 yards passing.. but that's not a good stat since we let then run the ball at will and he did not need to throw in order to beat us.

Not many positives to take from this game...

The only positive I took was that I did not have to pay gas driving to Cleveland to watch this horrible product. I am still willing to give Mangini 2 more years...... however Robiskie not playing and than looking at the Linebacker we could have had play for the Bengals haunts me........

Quinn didn't play well today....no doubt about it. But, if DA never plays another game here, it will be too soon. At the brginning of the season, I had no preference between the 2, and Quinn can be very frustrating to watch, but it was pure torture watching DA try to throw......if he comes back in, I won't be watching. I'd sooner see the third stringer play.

The only positive I gathered from today's game was that we threw 0 interceptions. We're not near good enough to turn the ball over, and the less times we do it the better. I'm still not happy with Quinn in the least, but I would much rather have him in the pocket than Anderson. I love DA, and I hope he does well, but I am tired of seeing him flounder around and then throw into triple coverage for an INT. I think Quinn is progressing, this is essentially his rookie year. For all of you who say he's been in NFL practice for three years now, remember, he's been practicing with us. That's hardly what I consider "game-speed".

The QB IS, Always was and ALWAYS will be THE most important position on a football team.

Manning would have won this game, as would have Brady, and Big Ben. How many times do you people have to see proof of this to finally wake up?

Back in the day, fans were saying the same thing about the stinky Mike Phipps era Browns Blame went to the OL, the Rbs, WRs and coaches. Enter Brian Sipe.............1976, Same OL, Same EVERYTHING......... except the results. Sipe's Browns went 9 -5.

Back in the day people were blaming the same bullshit for why Kosar sucked so bad. Enter vinny Testeverde and WHAM, the Belichik Browns became one of the most potent offenses in the NFL.

Bill Cowher couldn't do shit UNTIL he got a QB.

Would Peyton make this a SB team? No, but he would capitalize on all the opportunitites we watch Quinn and Andersen fail at week after week after week.

The Browns DO stink, and have for far too long. Andersen and Quinn are garbage. The Browns need to draft or sign a FA QB as their absolute top priority.

Emotional motivation has a lot to do with whether an organization succeeds or not. NOBODY wants to play in Cleveland. NOBODY is going to be pumped with either of these two xxxxtards inder center. FA's don't want to come here and neither do top coaching prospects.

If QB is not job one then the Browns will not ever even be an 8-8 team again.

Guest CardDawg

Yesterday was the third best game Anderson has had all year, maybe fourth. the more quinn plays, the better DA looks.

I notice one thing when quinn is in dink-n-dunk mode, and that is our running game is greatly diminished by it as well.

Love both stories but figure this into effect DA got benched for leading the team in tds and still for his career has more TDs than picks

That's not why he got benched...

He got benched for a 15 for a QB rating this year.

And that was after how many starts?

Maybe BQ isn't the answer, but DA was putrid.

No offense, but what the hell is the matter with you?

I was really looking forward to this game because it is rare to be able to compare two competing qbs against the same team in the same season against the same teams with basically the same skill players.

MY findings (opinion) is that IF we have a good defensive team I would rather have Quinn at qb who is weaker at leading the team offensively but does not throw the ints as much as DA.

However DA is definately a better offensive leader and the team does better offensively with him and will score more, so IF the defense is lacking I would rather much have DA at qb.

I think next year we will definately get better with higher quality defensive players being added and probably more skill players. I would rather have Quinn at the helm because I think IF we get better skill players while he may never be a good offensive threat he will make less mistakes and we rely on defense and our rushing attack.

However IF his offensive numbers keep consistent with his trends this year than DA is a much better option even with his mistakes offensively.

that totally MIGHT be the case but it hard to tell with the Mangini regime and we dont know who the football czar is yet..... and what they might be comparing and reviewing versus leveraging for either trades, free agency and the draft...... you never really know. Quinn is not exactly lighting things up consistently and more often he is underwhelming in total offensive numbers for both the team and himself. wierder things have happened.

are you kidding right now i sure hope so because you dont sound very smart...Anderson has a decent game against a team that quinn had a sub-par game and all of a sudden anderson is a pro bowl QB again.....C'mon man u dont even give the kid a chance he has started what 10 games. If you really want lets look at the TD/INT ratio Anderson 2TDs/8 Ints Quinn 8Tds 5 Ints none in the last four. So guess what quinn is our guy....we dont need someone who in 5 games has 8 ints.

Brady won against the Steelers and Anderson didn't.. suck on that

wow quite interesting comments, quinn is NOT a good qb right now.... his accuracy has been consistently bad, his mid arm strength and accuracy is POOR.... his much vaunted completion rate is LOWER than DA and so are ALL of his overall numbers.... DA is definately a risk taker that cost us turnovers....

The numbers of them against the same two teams in the same season are what they are....Quinn has put in these numbers quite a few times just deal with it. I dont have a problem with him as qb.... the defense won against the steelers NOT quinn get over it. I dont care we won but the position is far from stable.

DA is better offensively regardless of how you want to spin it the numbers agains the same teams twice in the same season are what they are.

I will give quinn a good review in the fact that he managed the game well and did not do anything stupid that would've stopped us from winning.

Q) do we have anyone that can catch a football on this team?

this is odd "managing" I could see but his completion rating was 31% for 90 yards. That's not managing that's poor performance When you only convert 2 first downs and get bailed out by long cribbs runs that's not "managing"

if he converted 1st downs and completed 60%+ of the 1st down conversions than yes HE would be "managing" the game

cribbs and the defense managed the game

da is a better qb for the offense the comparative stats are what they are they don't have a opinion
