Lumbergh
Brady Quinn did his best to try to act like he really believed it was on him for failing to move the offense with the game on the line, but he just couldn't wipe that shit eatin' grin off his face for long enough to hid the fact that he could care less about the L. He knows all to well that win or lose, he's got a leash with the fans that stretches for miles. The BQ fans joyfully celebrated the loss to the Broncos as a signal of things to come, wooed by a 65% completion percentage and a dink and dunk offense that harkens back to the days of Charlie Frye. Bolstered by a running game that had a season high for yards in a game in the first half, against a defense missing 5 injured starters, and a Cutler pick that gave the Browns field position inside the red zone, Quinn cashed in with dumpoffs in front of the linebackers for a 13 point lead. But before you could get to the Team Shop to buy your pink #10 jersey Mike Shanahan figured out the young kid's glaring weaknesses: Can't play-action pass and can't go over the top. With an 8 in the box defense in the second half, the Broncos stopped the Browns running game in it's tracks and the Browns were left hoping Quinn could complete 14 six yard passes in a row to pull out the win. After a dirtball to Jason Wright on 3rd and 1 and a screamer over Winslow's head on 4th and 1, the game was lost. But for Quinn and his fans, wins and losses are irrelevant, as their dream of seeing BQ on the big stage has now come true.
glenby73
So the kid is excited. Remember when you got your stapler back from Milton? Yeah, that's how Brady feels.
Guest Masters
Bwwwwwwaaaaaa........ Yup, and with that 8 in the box in the second half the playaction was still successfull, leading CLE to 10 more points. Including a TD drive after that back breaking TD pass. If only DA could do that, he's still be a starter. Make like DA, and go clutch a ball in the corner.
OconRecon
...you could get to the Team Shop to buy your pink #10... Oh yeah, that reminds me. When I was in the team shop at the stadium last weekend, the lack of Anderception offerings was startling. A few hangers long the wall, and by the looks on the backs of the fans, it wasn't because they were sold out. The franchise has moved on. Quinn time. What you don't get Lum is when the Browns moved up in the draft to get Quinn as well as snagging Thomas, it was the most exciting draft the Browns have ever had. We had our cake and were ready to eat it too. It's finally coming together and despite this frustrating loss. The 2007 first round draft class is on the field. I'm still fired up. Let's beat the Bills. Come on, its the freakin' Bills.
DieHardBrownsFan
I agree Doc. Quinn looked really good out there. His time has finally arrived. Instead of being bitter Lum, come and support the team.

Riffer X
Lumberg all tears as he realizes BQ is decidedly better than DA and DA may never see an NFL field again. It's gotta be a devastating feeling for Lum to know BQ really is better than DA by a mile. Think about it, he's trying to find a way to cope as this this was his biggest fear come true. choco
this seems like deja vu.... DA rolls in here and lights it up for 8 games.....coaches get film on him and shut him down.... lets see what happens the next few weeks, see if he's consistent, see if he handles adversity. once the books out on him, it'll be more interesting to see if he can continue to play well. it does look promising, but im not ready to proclaim him a franchise QB. Guest AdaM
Well Choco, considering it was a totally different type of game plan I dont see how you could possibly compare this game to a DA game. Completely different animal. Also... BQ is all we got so you better embrace his ass.
Lumbergh
Also... BQ is all we got so you better embrace his ass. Actually there's a Pro Bowler on the bench that probably woulda put up 40 against that D last night.

Nothing wrong with that. Time will only truly show. But what I saw out there was a leader at QB. Something I have not seen from DA, ever. DA is Holcomb. Could throw the ball, but you never looked at the guy and saw a leader of men.
Orangenotbrown
Yeah we lost, but for once this week there's nothing we can look at with the QB position and say "if we had only been better in THAT AREA" He's toast Lumby, get over it. Be a fan, oh wait, that's right, our predictions about you are coming true before our very eyes. You could care less about the Browns, just about your boy. Feels good being so right, and having somebody so pegged. Sucks to be lumbergh today...... But here's the problem for Lumbergh, even if he gets with the Brady Leg Humpin Brigade he's already missed the honeymoon. That might have been as good as it gets last night. Remember when teams started to figure DA out? Remember how effective DA was when he came in as a complete blank slate and teams didnt know that his best pass was the deep post missile launch? The book on Brady is being written right now. One game film now, by 3 games that book will be completely published and its going to be a short story indeed. Brady showed that he will throw the short to intermediate routes and will not wait on the longer routes. You expect a GOOD defense (not the broncdohs giving up 20 in a half) to not clamp down on the short routes, force brady to wait longer so they can start terrorizing him in the pocket? Guarantee that will happen. Unless you didnt read sheps downward spiral prediction model analysis or think that it applies only to orREgUners. The doofus nature of the browns and the stupidity of some of the fans make this franchise the ultimate underdog. Its fascinating to see the dirty underbelly of this Retardation at close range. Actually there's a Pro Bowler on the bench that probably woulda put up 40 against that D last night. A pro bowl alternate. What was on the bench was Bill Kenney. DA would have put up 2 picks and folded after that back breaking TD pass by DEN. Assuming DA even had the team in the game.

And DA wasn't on the bench, he was pacing the sidelines smacking the shit out of a football because he knew he blew his chance in cleveland by SUCKING. What's funny....or sad......is these guys would have become die hard Browns fans had their boy handled the job. Instead, now they are going to rationalize and blame everything from the fans on down. Or jump even before to the next guy from ORE who played well.
Lumbergh
The Kansas City Chiefs scored 33 vs the Broncos. In fact, the Broncos have allowed 30 or more 5 times this season. Nice work indeed, Brady. Just keep smilin' and they'll keep luvin' ya. Now maybe throw in a W at some point and you won't get sent back to the bench. You know, I seem to remember several recent screwed up plays that our FORMER QB LAUGHED at while still on the field/sidelines. There were plenty of cameras to show that. Like most things, the ORE trail doesn't want to remember that.

BQ is all we got so you better embrace his ass. well, considering i wasn't comparing games between the 2, i dont see why you responded. read between the lines, i was pleasantly surprised by his play. BUT, a one game evaluation doesn't mean shit. it took coaches a few weeks to figure out DA.....8 good to great games followed by 15 or so bad ones. if you are so sure that quinn will continue to progress with no issues/adversity and will garner no criticism, then your just fooling yourself. thats all im saying.....wasn't the knock on DA that he didn't beat good team? lets see what he does over the course of a few weeks before we jump the gun and call him a franchise QB. if he can beat good game plans against good teams, then we may be on to something. Lumbergh
imagine if Quinn had had that kind of output from the defense and running game. Yeah imagine if Quinn was given the best rushing performance of the season and starting positiion inside the red zone.... oh wait, he did. And he still lost. One game film now, by 3 games that book will be completely published and its going to be a short story indeed. Brady showed that he will throw the short to intermediate routes and will not wait on the longer routes. Not true at all. All indications showed me a) Brady took what the D gave him and he executed the plays called for him. This was his FIRST START. He showed us he's versatile, mobile, smart; three things DA was not and, unfortunately for him, never will be. You don't get books on those guys (Manning, T Brady, Romo, Roethlisberger) because they are indeed versatile. The guys you get books on are one-trick ponies like DA, Vick, etc.
