As someone who’s owned a tax business, I don’t think your average Citizen can grasp the complexity of the corporate tax code. I’ll go out on a limb and guess that DJT was wealthy before, during, and after his stint as Prez. Because NY has reason to believe there was tax fraud going on. It's what sent Al Capone to Alcatraz. Al Capone was indicted and convicted of Tax fraud, FEDERAL tax fraud. New York State would be a who different ball game. And convicting a former President would be near impossible because you couldn't lock him up in a regular jail. He knows too much and would have to be protected 24/7. There would be nothing stopping NY forwarding info to the the Feds if they saw stuff that violated FEDERAL tax laws. Personally- if everything turns out on the up and up for Trump- great. He's sure been reluctant to turn those returns over- assuming he's got nothing to hide. And I'm betting he sure as hell does. And a follow up to Canton. Joe Schmoe isn't going to see those returns- they're part of a Grand Jury investigation. And average schmucks aren't going to be analyzing them either. That will be top level forensic accountants.
