I think Jaycee Horn should be higher.  Newsome as well.  I have a feeling the Browns like both.  And I also have feeling they are gone by 26.  I get the feeling the Browns want an elite corner this year.  

Rousseau is an intriguing prospect.  I’ve liked him since the start of the draft process.

I did slide Horn just above Moehrig..I had them as a pick'em tie..Horn blew up his proday & boards are now moving him out of our range if we stay at #26..A Corner value maybe greater than a Safety at this point ? Finished Jamin Davis tape, got Newsome on deck 👀 (see both as 25 to 30 draftee values... within browns reach at #26)

 I tossed out 12-13 players off the board at the get go.. Another dozen would have to fall off my board before the Browns hit the clock at pick #26..So yes, my top 12... maybe gone?

Boards are in real flux ATM... but the scenario is the same. Namely only 25 players can be selected before we are OTC including...

• 5 QBs... Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance and Jones.
• RB? Could be up to 2 in Harris and Etienne, but I'm not counting on either.
• 3 to 5 WRs...Chase, Waddle, Smith with a couple more possibles in R. Moore and Bateman.
• 1 TE... Pitts
• 5 or 6 OTs... Cosmi, Sewell, Darrisaw, Mayfield, Slater, Jenkins and maybe even Vera-Tucker with a couple moving inside as a Pro.

That's 14 to 19 of the 25 right there at positions of low to no, Round-One interest to us.

 

Defensive talent will be pushed down the board and into our arms.

A good prospect at DE and CB are both going to be there so will be interesting to see which way they go, BPA according to their board on just those two positions makes sense......unless a WR they really like is there

Q: If the Browns trade up in the draft, do you think it will be for a defensive end or a cornerback? Any chance the team stays at 26 and takes a linebacker? I’m always going for the twofer.

A: Cornerback … and I think trading up for one of the top ones is a distinct possibility. I believe strongly the first pick will be a cornerback or a defensive end, as you mentioned, placing the probability at 80-90 percent.

I picked cornerback above defensive end for a trade up for a couple of reasons. I believe the talent at corner drops off at some point in the first round and the Browns won’t want to get stuck in the wrong tier, and defensive end has more options around No. 26. I also see cornerback being a more pressing need in the draft given the uncertainty surrounding Greedy Williams’ return from a shoulder injury and the likelihood the Browns will add a veteran defensive end at some point.

I’m feeling generous today, so for the double dip: Yes. In my view, linebacker and receiver are the two other possibilities at No. 26. I don’t think the Browns need a linebacker and I believe they value the position the least on defense, but I wouldn’t rule it out if they’ve fallen in love with a playmaker they believe could elevate the second level of the defense.

Slight Trade up give me Jaycee Horn.  I think he’s going to be stud.

Stay put: Greg Rousseau or Jamin Davis.  The forum has swayed me on Jamin.  He looks fast and very instinctive (two qualities we lack at LB).

I played every known mock football game known to the internet last night... No* Team would trade down to pick #26 .. Horn/Paye/Phillips/R-seau/Farley all start coming off boards around Dallas pick #10.. by pick #26, I opted out of many, trying to trade up from pick #8 thru 24.. and ended up looking at guys like.... Asante Samuel/Oweh/Olujari ... at pick 26..I took Boogie Basham 👍

This may take a trading team needing a TE like Njoku? I'm looking at you 👀 Dallas/Eagles, Jets & Giants ! !

I think we will have a defensive guy or two tumble.  Too many intriguing QBs, WRs, Tackle prospects this year and loads of teams with those specific needs.

But there are teams just ahead of us 17-25 that appear to have defensive needs like ours.  If we trade (if we can even trade) maybe we jump right ahead of that pack. 
 

I don’t know what Njoku fetches but we are going needs picks and other reinforcements

Slight trade down with this mock but I think this covers all of our bases and gives up major Front 7 help.  Dline competition at training camp will be fierce.  No Safety though.

I took two of my sleepers. Davis Mills QB and Jaylen Twyman DT.  Took a corner over 6 foot.  

We bring in a kicker too.

Since the beginning of the Sim's game Mocking season.. LB Buddy Johnson of A&M has been Mocked a 7th rounder..

I don't see that 🤓 Buddy Johnson should fall off the board right behind tBucks Justin Hilliard in the 4th or 5th...stay tuned..

Buddy's player grade is a 6.10.. That's the same as Bucks LB Pete Werner

agree on Johnson and Hilliard.  And If Hilliard stays healthy he’s going to be a steal. 
Pete Werner will be a third down specialist at the next level- cover backs out of the backfield and those TE flat and curl routes.  I’ve seen 2nd and 3rd round on him.  I think you need more than that to be drafted in those areas.

Dunno, but Ossai is not projected to be a hand-in-the-dirt, 4-3 Edge... more as a standup, OLB/Edge in a 3-4. I think he'd be our Will unless/until he grew into a DE.

 

But whenever I try to project DEs "growing" I get a Mingo flashback.

feels to me 🤓... moving up to the teens, is the sweet spot, but might come with a higher extreme cost this draft season than most? I'd favor a 2nd or 3rd round slide up..

I'm still in the boat of adding a DE/CB & now DT... but, I can't toss out a coverage LB if JOK or Collins is still there..... and nobody has a clue... if Landry's or OBJ's replacement is taken early in this draft ?
