I'm no expert, but I'd say that among the forum mods, Zombo runs the "Visiting fans name changing" department along with the "0 Fucks given" department. The first dependant on the latter, so... Good luck with your claim.

The Chiefs know that it is coming and quite honestly I don’t think they can stop us consistently playing straight up.  But This is a big time play action game to me. I look for us to consistently put their safeties in a tough spot.

Raiders/Chiefs at Arrowhead early this year...type of game we need on offense.

2.  Yes, you beat the Steelers.  You had the unusualy benefit of getting a bunch of turnovers in the 1st quarter with very very short fields.  You won the turnover battle 5-0.  GOOD LUCK with having all that happen again.

3.  Pat Mahomes.

Well....would you rather be a Zero...or a Homo?   When both apply  whacha gonna do?

Mahomo-free thread here:

Did not know you could do that but it works for me...

Also... nice photoshop job on the new Avatar. Was partial to my suggestion, but your pick will do nicely...

Next round is on me...

... especially since I plan for it to be free in our suite at a home game TBD this Fall.

I'm down for two slots.... plus a room in the block at The Renaissance Cleveland Hotel (IIRC?)

Initial Injury Report time...

Here's ours for the YTD... might reflect the above good news later tonite.

Bad news in the cases of Dunn and Jackson...

image.thumb.png.dafa32c676aeac6ca53ffd4abe024097.png

And here's the Chiefs complete report... including some very outdated stuff.

Knew he did not play in last couple KC games I caught, but I did not know Schwartz was on IR.

Here is how your Sunday is going to go.

you will be crushed.

Cleveland, having invested a lot of emotion and energy into their first playoff win in decades, vs long time rival Pittsburg, is going to come into KC vs a well rested Chiefs team that was 10 in points allowed.  Cleveland spent their whole wad vs the Steelers.

You will look at KC’s defensive rankings and think to yourself that Cleveland should be able to run VS the Chiefs based on those rankings.

What you don’t see in those rankings is that most of those runs come as teams are trailing and KC is playing pass defense.  KC has allowed the fewest receptions to WR’s in the NFL this year.....a major accomplishment considering teams are usually playing from behind.

It might also be noteworthy that KC had a game where they turned the ball over 4 times in the first half, lost the TO battle 4-0 for the game.  They led at halftime.

Pat Mahomes has never walked off a football field after playing 4 quarters of playoff football, with his team losing.

KC, with Pat Mahomes, is 2-0 in PLAYOFF games in wich the opponents block a punt and return it for a TD.

KC is not Pittsburgh.

I don't think we will win, but man this kind of sentences always seem stupid for me.

If you're right, congrats, you have the same opinion as the vast majority of football fans.

If you're wrong, prepare yourself for eating crow.

It's a meh/lose situation for me. Not really worth it.

Behind? Hmmmmm

  • 3 point win in OT. Allowed 183 rushing
  • 8 point loss... allowed 144 rushing
  • 2 point win... allowed 104
  • 4 point win... allowed 89
  • 3 point... 75
  • 6 point... 179
  • 6 point... 80
  • 3 point... 60
  • 3 point... 90

I'll let week 17 slide.

So from the above it seems that when you stop the run, and in some games you do, that you can't stop the pass?

Just as a quality check let's look at the Top Ten rushing teams for 2020 and see how many you played and how you did...

Ravens? Nope... Titans? Negative... Browns? Not yet... Pats? Yup... held them to 185? Can that be correct?

Oh wait... you picked Stidham twice, Hoyer once and strip sacked Hoyer to boot. So Pats turned it over 4 times... and you won by 16. lol... Moving on...

Vikings, Saints. Cards... No, yup, nein... Beat NOLA by 3 with Brees going 15-34? Awesome... Next!

Pack, Eagles Rams... No, no and no...

Awesome run D there... batted .500 keeping the 2, top ten rushing teams under 150 yards.... wait, 160... wait 170... wait...image.png.e0b3f244043a6c70e364e717d4ff9798.png

Did I mention I love your new avatar?

What else ya got, son?

My top concerns about KC are obviously

#1 Tyreek Hill

#2 Travis Kelce

#3 Patrick Mahomes

And you still have Watkins, Hardman, and Edwards-Helaire. Then you add in the intangibles that Mahomes brings is going to spread our defense thin.

If you take into consideration what the Browns had to overcome to get here, I think this is a winnable game. We must run the ball and win in the trenches and we need to prevent explosive plays. If we let Hill take over the game, it's going to be a long day.

What scares me is how they seemed to roll coverage away from Claypool in the Steelers game and allowed them to get back in it. I say lock Hill down and do the best you can against Kelce and make someone else beat you.

Edwards Helaire is out.  They are deep with pass catchers/explosive talent.  Their line is vulnerable.

We do not have the horses this year to contain these guys.

We need rust and poor execution to stall some drives.  Maybe some red zones stops and a turnover.  Maybe a key guy or two out.

And it’s no secret it’s Chubb and Hunt 45-50 times in rushes and short passes this Sunday shortening this game.

When I think of our offseason strategy this year.  It is obviously fixing our Defense.  Adding a Lamar Jackson spy and tackle specialist and an interior pass rusher to disrupt a Guy like Mahomes are at the top of my list.  Along with Delpit and Ward playing 16 games plus playoffs.

So....where do you come off thinking that we Browns fans think that KC is anything like Pittsburgh?  WE understand it is  a daunting task to take on the Chiefs.   Does that mean that the Browns have to be a-scared?  They WILL show up.....with all their flaws.

But I have just 3 words for you:   Phi Slamma Jamma

You forgot Reed and Bienemy... that Offense has more wrinkles than a $60 suit...

So frickin' inventive...

This is a pure ball control game for us. Either way the coin toss goes we should end up with the ball first. Then if we go eat 7+ minutes and 75-yds...

We do not want to play this game behind more than one score... and preferably that score is a FG.

We make them play from behind... maximize their play count by frustrating their chunk plays... then we have a shot.

In short we try to make a team with superior weapons, but the same weaknesses, look like the Steelers.

We know Mahomes ain't Ben, but in that there's both hope and danger. Danger in that he's mobile... and then some. Hope in that because he knows he is mobile he sometimes holds the ball a bit too long and takes a sack. Takes a very disciplined rush to get him, but he is gettable so long as he's not left a crease to escape thru.

Of course, they're ground attack ain't bad either.

For us to win job 1 is to win the war in trenches... both ways... but it's even more important that our DL does so.
