Browns/Eagles Data Points

Since apparently answering trivia is anathema to you all, I will just give you some Browns/Eagles Data Points:

1. The Browns are 31-17-1  all time head to head vs. Eagles

2. The Browns/Eagles very first matchup was in the first game of the 1950 season when  the Eagles were defending NFL champions and the Browns had just entered the league off of being 4 time  AAFC defending champs.  Eagles owner Bert Bell figured it would be a wipe out.  He was right....except he got the wrong team.    As a result of the ass kicking the Browns gave the Eagles that day, Bell who also held the position of NFL Commissioner pulled a Trumpian like move and declared that the NFL would not recognize the titles and records of the AAFC.

3. One man has been the Head Coach of both the Browns and Eagles:   Nick Skorich......although Pat Shurmur was the Eagle interim HC after they fired Chip Kelly in the 2015 season.

4. Former Browns QBs  Ty Detmer, Doug Pederson, and Brian Hoyer were also the primary QBs for the Eagles for a season.

5. Eagles HOF  WR  Tommy McDonald also had a cup of coffee with the Browns at the end of his career

6. The Eagles  First round draft pick in 1950  was Bud Grant,  later HOF HC of the Vikings

7. In 1947 the Eagles first round draft pick was a man named  Neil Armstrong....but not THAT Neil Armstrong.

8.  The Eagles have won 4 titles in their history:  1948, 1949, 1960 and 2017.   Their 1960 victory was over the Packers in the NFL title game.  The Packers went on to win 5 more championships in that decade.

9. The Eagles got their name from the Blue Eagle insignia of the National Recovery Administration, a centerpiece of the FDR's New Deal.

10.  For one year during WWII  and due to war time shortages,  the Eagles and the Steelers teams were merged and were euphemistically called "The Steagles"

11. As far as I know,   the Eagles are the only team in NFL history to have had a courtroom set up in their stadium to deal with bad fan behavior.  The most famous incident of their bad fan behavior was when their fans pelted Santa Claus with snowballs.

12. Eagles Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bob Brown is a native of Cleveland Ohio.

Also the answer to the trivia question, "Who was the last NFL player to play without a facemask."
