This coming year a new  major league sports franchise will be  coming aboard:    The Seattle Kraken  will be released in the NHL. 

And speaking of Seattle, also, note that I have eliminated the  Oklahoma City Thunder as a separate franchise from the Seattle Supersonics, as, for some time the league was pondering a "Cleveland Browns" type solution in the event the NBA wanted to put another team in Seattle to pick up that team's history there.  But they have apparently abandoned that idea, and now they consider the Supersonics and Thunder as a single franchise, with just a move and name change in there.  So instead of 2008 being the Year of Origin for a Thunder franchise, their last title is the  1979 title they won in Seattle.
