Mayfield's rookie TD record didn't last long, and he's going to have every Browns passing record pretty soon. Holy cow, those are some dreadful career numbers. He's also part of arguably the worst AND the best trades in Browns history. (Unlike Rocky Colavito for the Tribe, who was involved in two bad trades for the Indians) Everyone knows Phipps was traded to the Browns for arguably one of the best WRs in NFL history, Paul Warfield. What a lot of Browns fans forget is that years later the Browns somehow got a first rounder (and a 4th!) out of the Chicago Bears in the trade to rid themselves of Phipps. That first rounder ended up being.... Ozzie Newsome! Yes, Brian played in only 1 postseason game. Bernie played in 7 with the Browns....plus another 2 for the Cowboys and one for the Dolphins as a backup I believe. And I love Bernie Kosar. Now, can we get back to the context of discussion? If so, the ONLY Cleveland QB I've seen earn an NFL MVP honor in my lifetime as a fan was Brian Sipe. If not, Sipe and Kosar are easily my 2 favorite QBs in my lifetime as a fan of this team. One guy started the Kardiac Kids excitement at the onset of the 80s with all the comeback victories and the other brought it back. Today wasn't a great day for him, but his attitude/competitiveness is infectious. I've said it before, and I'll say it again....I wanted Josh Allen but glad Mayfield is our QB now. But losing like that on the verge of getting into the playoffs and not being able to beat the worst team in the league is going to haunt him. All he had to do was fall forward and hold the ball. I honestly don't see how it even happened. Additionally, Baker has to play to a team that pressures more than any other and we saw how he handled the pressure against the literal worst defensive team in the nation. Oh yeah, it's the Steelers. He isn’t consistent and is prone to making poor decisions. I saw this at OU. When the team is firing on all cylinders he is very good. When they aren’t he is terrible.
