The thing with socialism is everyone sort of has their own sliding scale line of demarcation on how much socialism is too much socialism. We already have plenty of it here in the US of A already. Social Security programs, Medicare, environmental regulations, bailouts, etc. Most would agree there’s a need for at least some of those things, the lynchpin seems to be deciding who gets to control them. The Merriam Webster definition of socialism: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. As an example, we decide to do away with the socialistic Social Security program. “But l paid into it!” Of course you did. We will figure out how much you paid, how much if any you received, and we will pay you the difference. Who will oversee this endeavor?
