WSS Whatever the fastest you can safely launch a new drug. I'd imagine we're putting all of the manpower we can behind expediting a cure. Dr. Hoorta's fast research 0.02 . Just might, maybe be the real "miracle, game changer" treatment. BTW, it's not a "new" drug, been around for years. Its what's called an "orphan" drug. Tested, and pretty much put on the pharmacy scrap heap. Apparently some Doc was perusing arcane journals, and saw it had anti inflammatory effects in lung tissue. So, what the hell- let's try it. What they found out- holy guacamole- is this drug blocks covid from attacking a very specific type of lung cell that the virus prefers to have for lunch. The interesting thing about aviptadil- get this- is it's in the same class of drugs as Viagra (sildenafil). It's WAY early in the reporting game, but from that limited trial, bet Docs across the country are going to try it too. LOL, saw the company that makes it stock just went through the roof. WSS Steve I'm sending this to the Baylor School of Medicine MD who does his weekly youtube update on COVID. He does put an email address for questions, so I'll ask him to comment on this report specifically. Being based in Houston as he is, I suspect he's going to be on top of it anyway. Bill, Thanks for your note and watching my videos. I am always concerned about announcements that sound over promising about treatments before there is clear data on the results. Many treatments are being studied and we have to be responsible in how those treatments are being portrayed to the public. I have not seen enough scientific data on this drug to be able to give you a good answer. We have seen other experimental treatments touted as a great "cure" that turned out not to be great. Seems to me, a pathogen would have these qualities: 1. Not be traceable back to it's origins - for cover. 2. Relatively high rate of morphing ? into different versions - making it tough to design a vaccine for it. 3. Be slow to develop symptoms - so it spreads without warning. Makes it more deadly. 4. Affect older adults, middle aged adults, not so much children. Political and military leadership gets hit, for effectiveness. 5. Can easily float in the air and be highly contagious, on surfaces, in the air, by touch. 6. Cause disastrous economic damage, social distress, and problems militarily manning equipment, food shortages. TexasAg1969 Posted August 15, 2020 Report Share Posted August 15, 2020 I thanked Dr. Klotman for his efforts to educate us all without political agenda coloring the science behind what he says and I mentioned sending the above youtube to the District school board under which my son's school is administered. This is his response and I added Friday's segment #21 which he said would address school reopening: "Sharing this with the School Board is a great idea.
