But the one white-wing dove I got was so beautiful, I vowed to never shoot another. And they are very easy to distinguish from the normal morning dove when flying, so that vow is easy to keep. I would never shoot a dove. I shoot for food. Squirrel dumplings, pheasant - except we don't have pheasants in Ohio anymore, and I haven't bagged a wild turkey yet. Might have to go to Kentucky for that. All sorts of Ohio hunters go to S. Dakota to hunt pheasant. they used to be in every cornfield in Ohio when I was kid. I want to duck hunt outback - if the wetland area would flood again. I have a couple of Duck Dynasty duck calls, steel shot.......no ducks. Then you can either bake them in some of the marinade or cook them on the grill if you wish. Some really good eatin' there. Very tender and any gaminess taken out by that marinade combo.😋 When I lived in another lifetime it seems back in the early 80's I went both duck hunting and pheasant hunting with a friend native to Kansas. He may be the person I got that marinade from because it works very well on both of those too. Great stuff there. Never have even seen a pheasant in Texas though I bet you could find them in the NE panhandle up close to the Ok. panhandle which is just a hop over to western Kansas where pheasant flourish.
