THE BROWNS BOARD

My Browns uni concept

I finally got back to this thread to ask a question. I noticed the practice jerseys don't have numbers on the shoulders. I'm assuming that's because they're not being used at the stadium.

Does any one remember when they added the numbers to the shoulders? It appears to be something they added a while back w/o me even noticing until now. (Talk about observant. NOT)

All told, it's very nice seeing what an updated Browns uni. would look like. I'm 50/50 between traditional and contemporary.

I believe most of us know that the fan base in general might not be ready for this until the trip from NFL Champion(1964) to Super Bowl winner(?) is finally complete.

Browns fans are a stubborn lot. Maybe after there is a Lombardi trophy in the trophy case in Berea the updated unis. might be better accepted. I hope I'm wrong though.

I believe the shoulder (or "TV") numbers and nameplates became mandatory in the early 70's. But teams can wear throwbacks without the TV numbers if they originally didn't have them though nameplates are still mandatory even on throwbacks.

A boardie on one of the graphics sites I check out came up with a neat photoshop template for football uniforms. So I messed around with it and came up with my own Browns uniform update.

This is awesome, great job! May I have the info on the template so I may mess around with it too? I love the Brown on White look you have here!

amazing what the magic wand and the fill bucket tool can do.

that's a 2 minute job in photoshop.

great. amazing. awesome.

can you show me something that you did w/o taking someone else's template and playing around with the color profile?

Thanks again for the positive comments everyone ! Here's a logo I came up with that may not work on the uniform but maybe as a patch on shirts, hats, etc.

<img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b398/wvguin/Browns-patch-2.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

that should definitely be on our players sleeves or on the back of their winter coats they wear on the sidelines, totally old school looking....kick ass design/logo!!!

Jesus H, I can't stop coming back to this thread just to stare.

I'm not sure if I'm more amazed at how good those are, or how in the world the Browns have never even tried something like this.

OK, one more thing I'm amazed at, WV has produced something that we are all not only OK with, but we are all slobbering over.

As someone else mentioned, can we forward these designs to Nike since they are redoing the uni's, and would they even listen...probably not.

Nice work, any of these are changes that would modernize the browns but yet i could easily live with..

Its all about the helmet, dont touch the helmet! ;)

I don't know if this has been mentioned but a hockey fan from Edmonton (or Calgary, or Vancouver, or Winnipeg, who the fuck knows) designed such a good jersey concept that the team actually adopted that jersey as an alternate.

Will it happen here, probably not. But it never hurts to try. I have some templates I'll upload once I get my computer back from Apple.

Brown with Orange pants for home, White with Brown pants for away, Orange with Brown or white pants once a year at home for an alternate jersey. I like the strips down the sides just cause their new, but on the Brown jerseys I would make them Orange instead of brown. I would also like to see numbers on the sides of the helmets like we had a few years ago.

I think you did an awesome job. Something is awkward though. Maybe remove the orange around the numbers and add an orange and white stripe down the pants. But seriously that is very cool work. Thanks.

It's awkward that Brady Quinn is inside that uniform. In all seriousness though, the very first one or the all white look the best. I still think the helmet needs either Brownie or that B inside the football on it. NEW LOOK NEW ATTITUDE!

Money.

p.s. We ought to send these to Reebok or somewhere and have them printed. Just start showing up to the games & backer's bars wearing them - maybe Lerner would get the hint.

Outstanding WV.

I like the idea. Probably would help if a petition was started too. Awesome job WV

I'd love to see them mix it up a bit.

Home- brown jersey orange pants, brown jersey brown pants with stripe, orange jersey brown pants, brown jersey white pants, orange jersey orange pants.

Away- white jersey white pants, white jersey orange pants... or if you play a team like the Cowboys or Dolphins who like to wear white at home you can use any of the home combos I listed. The Browns could also do this at home during the warmer weather games in September.

I wouldn't even mind seeing these combos in the modernized form as provided in this thread, but seriously DON'T SCREW WITH THE HELMET!!!!!

I Like 'em. New, yet as mentioned, retains that Browns Heritage. WE really need to do something to up freshen up the brand and remarket the team. I'm all for something like this. Start a Facebook Fan Page for new Uni's and I'll join the group. We need to do something as a team that is fresh and new. Like the commentator said in the Steelers game.. That we are always in our throwback Uni's. And he said it with a sort of disdain, "Come'on Man... Really?" in his voice.

Here we have a Browns poster kind enough to spend time designing some pretty cool uni's, and of course the thread is derailed by a fan of another team.

Ignoring is a great too. Just don't reply... Once we reply, we took the bait. Duh. (not to you, but those people that seem to fill the need to reply to those guys and then fill up pages of needless posts that have nothing to do with the original posts)

I remember this thread, and no, it would not bother me if the Browns made these nice looking changes, though I am still not sure that I like the orange or brown pants.....but these look a hell of a lot better than the Browns pants they wore last year.

I was about to say that anyone who could design a uni that didn't have the guys on this board griping about the brown pants is a genius. lol. I like most of the combo's shown with the exception of orange on orange.

Just noticed the Browns have worn their white jerseys for every game so far this year, now that sucks always like seeing the Brown jerseys out there, white jersey just reminds me of parents when young telling u not to get it dirty, with brown one it be like who gives a crap let's get stuck in covered in mud.

Nice: Browns in "46" I came across a picture of their uniforms, we need at least an offering of a:

White Helmet

Brown Face Mask on both helmets

Use (B) logo currently on sleeve on side of both helmets Com on it's MARKETING!

Back side of helmet on side of stripes-elf or Dawg or both!

Can you send the site that you did this on please.

Thanks,

yeah nike is knocking at this guy's door right now.

great job? that's a ten minute magic wand paint bucket fill which can be done by any ten year old with photoshop. great model though. where'd you get that pic? photbucket for fags.

what a bunch of metrosexuals. yeah let's worry about what jersey color we might adopt when the record on the football field is 1 win and 5 losses.

we all know who the fags are now that bring up uni threads when let's see: we just got a new owner, we're playing a rookie qb who throws up ints like he changes socks, our rookie RB is hurt and we're 10 mins away from kickoff of a game that might decide a lot of coaches' jobs.

BUT I QUEERLY REALLY LIKE THE BROWN AND ORANGE AND WHITE MIXED IN ON YOUR DESIGN CONCEPTS!!!

duh.
