mjp28
Is this what we are looking forward to on spectator sports? The owners and league will really take a hit on this one. Is NCAA football going to follow suit on this? Texas governor Greg Abbott says outdoor sports arenas can be at 25 percent capacity this summer Chris Cwik Yahoo SportsMay 28, 2020, 3:45 PM EDT Texas sports fans will be allowed to experience live sports in person in 2020. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott approved an order Thursday that would allow outdoor sports facilities to operate at 25 percent capacity this summer. Abbott, 62, has already given the green light for sports to resume in Texas on May 31. In order to host fans, teams will have to apply and receive approval from the Texas Department of State Health Services, according to the Texas Tribune. The order would hypothetically allow the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Texas Rangers to host fans in 2020. All three teams play in stadiums with retractable roofs. Those could be considered outdoor facilities under the order. Fans will not be allowed to attend sporting events at indoor stadiums. Abbott has also expressed optimism that the college football season will take place as scheduled in Texas, and expects fans will be able to attend those games. Unsympathetic
Face Coverings For the Public: Laying Strawmen to Rest - yes, that link is to Wiley, the publisher of scientific journals. "The current question we need to address is (..)whether covering the face protects other people from droplets emitted by the wearer." "There is some evidence that the Sars‐CoV‐2 virus relies more heavily than influenza, adenoviruses, or rhinoviruses on droplets, and will thus be more easily filtered out by a cloth cover at source than other respiratory viruses." Go take a look over there and keep the vulnerable safe. This is not over by a long shot.
