2020 Browns Depth Chart

In a perfect world, you'd get a Gronk, who was excellent as a receiver and a blocker... but there is a reason he's a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

With an offense that has two stellar RBs demanding the defense's attention like the Browns have, and should be adept at play-action, having a stud blocker at TE shouldn't be super important. This is good, because Hooper, Njoku and the kid rookie whose name escapes me are all 'eh' blockers.

Harrison Bryant,   or, is it Bryant Harrison?

I do dislike it when peopl have  two last names.   Worse yet...when they have 3.   Jones Donovan Peoples?  Peoples Donovan Jones? Donovan Jones Peoples?  WTF ever.

Usually when someone is a three name person, they killed someone. Bad sign. 😁

Right!!   Assassins.

History the mystery

Or....they have just one name that you say like  3 times:  Sirhan Sirhan Sirhan.

How about serial team killers?    Players, owners, coaches?

Arthur Bertram Modell.    (though, he kind of saved one team by getting kicked out of it)

Who else?

My theory is if blocking is what you want, draft a lightweight guard from some smaller school and make him a blocking tight end.  I want pass catching guys at TE

...I never understood why we let Benjamin Watson go.

Qzzie was a WR that they drafted for the sole purpose of being a receiving TE.  (and he didn't really like the idea when 1st drafted ) Yup, he didn't block.  He was a lousy blocker.

When you have to substitute blocking TE's for receiving TE's you're tipping your hand.  You can still run with the receiving TE's in the game...but it's at your own risk.

The guys in green in the back end of the depth chart are most likely candidates.

What a horrid year to have to switch a rookie from RT to LT.  No OTA's.  No pre season.  I predict growing pains for our new LT.  And I'm not overly confident in our RG.   -  I hope Mayfield is able to get the ball out quickly.

If I had to list players in Jeopardy of cutting 10? Undrafted..PS futures & Reserve futures.. would top the list.. some names?

WR--Tony Brown---J'mon Moore---J'Marcus Bradley

T-- Drake Dorbeck

TE-- Nate Wieting?

One of QB Gilbert or K.Davidson may go?

RB--- One of Johnny Stanton//B.Lemay or Herrien may go?

DE-- Obinna--- Trevon Young

DT---Whatley

SS-- M.Meander---J.Moffatt

FS-- E.Benton

CB-- J.Houston

There's 14... so am keeping Lemay/Herrien/Wieting/Stanton or the 4th QB arm for Camp?

Ya, may be a quick cut for fourth QBs in the league since there won't be any preseason games, they can probably get by with three arms for practice, so get your Davidson jersey before he is gone.

Refresh my memory:    Has the league decided to increase the rosters for regular season games this year, above the  53 that it was previously?

And what are they doing about the "inactives".....a situation I have always hated.

From above....in Gumby's post,  I see the new general rules regarding the roster based on the new CBA agreed to in March.....but are there any temporary adjustments to the roster size due to the Virus this year?   (aside from the 80 limit)

1) Teams could have carried up to 90 players till August 16th..But most decided to carry the new 80, with new camp building layouts opening & testing..

2) The new Raised Practice Squad limits is now 16 players...4 can be protected from being traded. 4 can be a veteran status, meaning accured seasons don't mean squat. Due to Covd19 testing, PS players can now travel & be added to a roster, 90 minutes before a Kickoff..

3) 53 roster'd until 2021.. In 2020 Of these 53..a) 47 can now be active to play *OR*  b.) activate 8 Lineman? 48 can be activated to play on game days..

Ok ... Adjusted. With that new practice squad rule, no need to keep three qbs, so Gilbert goes to the protected PS as does Pridgeon, because Hubbard and Harris can both back up at Guard. Also chose Ankou over Eukele at DT, more of a run stopper.

Your point is valid, but I don't think it will be as bad as last year. LT inexperienced but very talented, RT is a proven solid player.

If i had to bet a buck? Berry will wait on teams sitting on 15 offensive linemen.Heck make calls now.I'd also trust on Callhan knowing a few.. A fair DT is find able..

Alex Taylor has the size to play RG. I'd even put Evan Brown slightly ahead of Nick Harris for now..I just can't see Wright, Hubbard or Lamm playing Guard & never showed a playing weight over 300 pounds 🤔.. They'd be in Bakers lap on his 4th drop step.. Pridgeon was a former buckeye..and i think he played with his asthma inhaler on the sidelines..But I'm not sure how High Risk works with players not being on a active roster for 3 weeks?

I think both things are true: OG depth is scary thin, but it doesn't have to be a big problem. Starters are still there, depth can be found. It's a concern, but not an insurmountable obstacle.
