Gips, Penn State's Richie Lucas was a 4th pick overall in 1960 by the Washington Redskins but your directions said after 1966 so I'm wrong.

Right I was just going by since the common draft.   In the days of both an AFL and NFL draft a guy like that could have gone #4 in one draft, and not until the 4th round in another.     See Morton:   #5 overall in 1965....in NFL draft, but not until round 10 in AFL draft.

Here is today's Trivia Question:

Since the onset of the Common Draft...i.e.  when NFL and AFL combined their drafts in 1966......there have been   10  colleges who have had   3 or more Quarterbacks  drafted in the First Round of the draft.

Name those  10 colleges.

Answers all given:

Cal.....Goff, Rodgers, Boller, Rich Campbell,  Bartkowski

Florida.....Tebow, Grossman, Spurrier,  John Reaves

Florida St......Ponder,  Manuel,  Winston

Oklahoma.....Murray, Mayfield, Bradford  (all #1 overall)

Oregon.....Mariota,  Harrington, Akili Smith, Chris Mills.     Justin Herbert will give them 5

Purdue.....Griese,  Everitt,  Phipps    (Drew Brees was #32 pick, which at the time was 2d round)

UCLA...Rosen,  Aikman, Cade McNown,  Tommy Maddox

USC...Darnold, Sanchez, Leinart, Palmer,  Todd Marinovich

Washington State:   Leaf,  Bledsoe,  Jack Thompson

Note:  #1 as mentioned above,  Oregon will get its 5th  First round draft pick QB when Herbert gets taken (I think that is safe to say)

That will mean that the only schools that will have had 5 first round picks since the "Common Draft"...have all been Pac-10 schools

#2.  Joe Burrow will allow LSU to join the "3 First Round QB since the merger club"....having Jamarcus Russell and Bert Jones previously.

#3.  Tua....will only be the second  1st round QB from Alabama in the Common Draft era....Richard Todd being the other   Namath/Starr were prior to Common Draft era......Stabler as noted above...2d round.

#4.   Jordan Love, if taken in round one, will be first First round QB by Utah St.   Their rival Utah...has had  just one:  Alex Smith.

#5.  As noted above....all Oklahoma QBs taken in round one were each #1 overall picks.    The same is true for Stanford:  Luck/Elway/Plunkett....all #1 overall.

#6.  Besides OK and Stanford, the only other school with more than 1  #1 overall is Cal......Goff and Bartkowski.  No other school has had more than one #1 overall QB.

You all made short order of yesterday's  quiz.   Today's may prove to be harder.    What it will also prove is that  for a long long period of time, Running Backs were the cream of the crop when it came to drafting positions in Round 1 ...rather than QB.  Here it is, and is similar to yesterday's question:

Since the  Common Draft began in 1966......there have been  11 schools who have had  FIVE (5)  or more of their  Running Backs taken in the first round of the draft.

Name these 11 schools.

More Draft Trivia,  combined with Rivalry trivia,   It is expected that Chase Young will go #2 overall in the upcoming draft:

In the history of the NFL draft.....THE Ohio State University has had  10 players taken in the Top 3 overall in the NFL Draft. (regular only)  (Young would make 11)    Michigan has had  4 players taken in the Top 3 overall in the NFL draft.

Name these players from these schools that went in the Top 3 Overall.
