Tretter has a degree from Cornell in Labor Relations.  So, he sounds like a good choice.

Can’t really say if that’s good or bad, but good for him. While I miss Alex Mack, Tretter’s been very solid and seems to be a really good dude.

Can you say distraction?

Personally I'd rather our OL signal caller had nothing to do with repping team in the NFLPA let alone serving as it's President.

Tretter is taking care of his long term future beyond football. This was a good decision by him to utilize his other talents.

I heard a little about the guy this morning that I honestly had no idea about until now. Turns out he's a Cornell grad with a major of industrial labor relations.Everyone says this dude's intelligence just blows you out of the water when you talk to the guy. Pretty cool all around.

It's about trust and respect. Clearly, he has both in the players eyes and ears.

Apparently Tretter majored in labor relations or something like that at Cornell, so he being named as President of the Players Association makes sense.

Sounds like a good career move to me. You think those DTs are gonna be extra feisty going against their union president? I think not.

or.... that DT's effort could depend on how much they agree with results he gets. ;)

I think folks are underestimating the time involved in rep'ing a team let alone heading up the union.
