Last night's debate

I don't know how many of the members here plan to vote Democrat. I assume Tex and Tour, anyone else? JB? If so did anybody strike you as a viable candidate from last night's debate? Or if you are probably voting Republican which of that field would be the lesser of the evils?

I think Tom "who the fuck is that guy?" Steyers has eliminated himself by being the only guy supporting reparations for slavery. You think you guys pander? Hold my beer...

Neither of the women have enough Charisma to carry it off. Voters are sometimes superficial on either side but that's life.

Mayor Pete tried to go to the center if only slightly but not one black person is going to vote for a gay man. His supporters can cry homophobia all they want but I don't think it would help. They have cried wolf too often

Bernie is Bernie. I think it was unfair that he got booed for stating the Castro upgraded the literacy in Cuba. He did. Still I think that will only hurt him among moderates and right-wingers who aren't voting for him anyway.

Poor old crazy Joe shot himself in the foot again by bragging about working on the Paris Accord, which is stupid in the first place, with a dead Chinese leader. Also bragging about your bud Obama's accomplishments seems a little bit weak since Obama refuses to endorse him. Maybe he didn't properly fetch the coffee? And promising to narrow his Supreme Court search to black women? Come on Joe.

Bloomberg came off a lot better this time than last. They tried to attack him for some of his possibly sexist or racist or whatever stuff but I don't think most people really care about that. And he didn't really try to back down or weasel out.

I guess if I had to live with one of them as president it would be Bloomberg followed by mayor Pete. Though it would be a hoot to see what happened if Bernie actually slipped in.

I do wonder if the candidate will pick a centerist for a vice president or go Full Tilt to the left?

Gentleman what are your thoughts? And can we try to refrain from just attacking each other?

That's like asking the Dem candidates to refrain from attacking each other.

I don't see a lesser evil. If there was ever a case made for an honest democrat (sounds like an oxymoron I know) staying home and not voting, this is the one.

I agree with the exception of Amy. I may be going to vote against Trump in the Rep primary for whomever looks like the have the best chance to oust him. 🤴😰

It would make more sense if you just came out of the closet registered Democrat and voted for the candidate you thought would have the best chance in the general. He's not going to lose the primary and nobody gives a fuck what one disgruntled redneck thanks. Really.

Speaking to a South Carolina crowd just days before the state's primary election, former Vice President Joe Biden mistakenly told the audience he was a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate.

Vote for the other Biden...lol

Influential House Democrat calls chaotic South Carolina debate a ‘disgrace’

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/influential-house-democrat-south-carolina-debate

Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell of Michigan called the fiery debate in South Carolina overnight a "disgrace" and chided the Democratic candidates for trying to destroy each other rather than debate the issues.

“It was a disgrace," Dingell, who has deep ties in the Democratic Party and in swing-state Michigan, said Wednesday. "It was a circular firing squad. They're forgetting about what we need to be focused on.

"They're contributing to the fear and hatred in this country. I’m sure Russia and China were delighted at their performance."

It looks like I'm not voting for anyone for President this year, because all the Democrat candidates are shit. Probably won't vote for Trump either. Looks like I'll just be voting down ballot issues and candidates this year.

Also, I think it's naive of many conservatives to look at Bernie Sanders and simply rest on their laurels come November because they believe they have the election in the bag. Clinton did the same thing with Trump and look what happened.

You are exactly correct. Remember the John Oliver show where he literally begged Trump to run for president and said he would send him a check. Hohoho.

Sure Bernie could take it. I think his presidency would be a klusterfuk because the mainstream Democrats hate his guts in the first place and Republicans will hate his guts even worse.

On the other hand he might be this generation's George McGovern. And that would mean huge gains for the Republicans. And seriously if that happens I would be wishing that we had somebody in the white house with his shit together better the Donald Trump. Not that I hate him or anything but...

I think it would be real difficult for a socialist to win especially when the economy is going great but there is a lot of time between now and Nov for that to change.

The coronavirus could shake things up and maybe have the country into recession territory by Nov? And if the virus spreads and the dems are able to blame Trump for it who knows maybe Bernie will be seen as the new hope and change guy?

Many of the democrats who are opposed to Sanders right now are opposed  because they think he can't win in Nov and he might hurt the democrat candidates down ticket and not because he is a socialist. They will get behind him if he gets the nomination and I don't see a never Sanders movement happening by the democrats. We'll see.

I for one would not take for granted a Sanders candidacy as a loss in Nov even though I think the country as a whole does not support his socialism.

Funnily enough, I think that Donald Trump Jr. would make a much better candidate and possible president than his father. From the long-form interviews I've heard him in, he seems much more amicable and less narcissistic than Trump Sr.

Yes I like the kid. If it wasn't for the big game hunting I would like him a lot more but...

Isn't that how Trump won the R debates in 2015 & 2016? Worked out very well for him it seems.

That being said, I don't think there's a chance a Dem wins in 2020.They appear too far away from the center (for me, anyway).

Actually I think he did what everybody is wanted to do. What I hear to politicians on opposite sides talking about his friends on the other side of the aisle what you really means to say is those fucking assholes.

Plus when you have six people in a debate all singing from the same hymnal and one guy squawking by himself he gets noticed and the other guys sort of melt into the mush.

Too many people that don't have a pot to piss in nor the energy to go up and get themselves one hate corporations.  That's Bernie's Base.

By the way Bob I think the Democrat Party would have done a lot better to nominate a guy like you. Solid centrist pro-union without the gun control and abortion at time for any reason Sanctuary City baggage. And someone who was not completely anti-christian. I think James Carville is right and these guys could lead the party off the cliff. Which is fine with me but you understand...
