He and his wife are invested in the NFL...plus he has his kids/son-in-law involved now. That family is in for the long term. But...how about this wild speculation: Jimmy's heart is really in Tennessee. The heirs of Bud Adams own the Titans: Ownership of the Titans is now controlled by the consortium of the children and grandchildren of Bud (under the banner of KSA Industries)-- daughters Susie Smith and Amy Strunk, grandsons Kenneth S. Adams IV and Barclay Adams, and their mother Susan Lewis. Strunk owns the largest share of the team, 1/3, and is the team’s controlling owner. What we can conjecture is that maybe the Adams family could agree to trade their franchise for Jimmy's (maybe all those kids and grandkids would rather not own a football team...this has happened) , and they could agree to sell the Browns. Once upon a time Robert Irsay owned the Rams, then traded them to Carroll Rosenbloom who owned the Colts. Irsay family, as you know, still owns the Colts.
