Perez, a finalist for the first time in his career, played elite defense in 2019, leading baseball with 29 defensive runs saved according to Fangraphs.com. That’s 17 more than any other catcher and the most by a backstop since Yadier Molina in 2013. Perez did not allow a single passed ball and threw out an American League-high 40.8% of would-be base stealers........ continued at site........
