A few old but true statements on that game called professional football:

"On any given Sunday (or Thursday or Monday) any team can beat any other team".  (especially with the spread)

"We play to win the game".

"That's why they play the game on the field, not on paper".

Just try to remember that before you put the rent or grocery money on a team, horse or number.  They're all winners right up until it's showtime.   ;)

There are two obvious problems in this game against the Seahawks, but I’ll list them anyways because I’m me, and that’s what I do.

Problem 1 – Seattle has extremely physical people on their defense.  We all know their defense isn’t quite the “Legion of Boom” of years past, but they still have some people on their front 7 that would bitch slap Donkey Kong, steal his fried chicken, AND eat it in front of him.  Ok that didn’t really make any sense, but the point is they have some big nasties that are physical, and PHYSICAL is what gives us fits.  Clowney isn’t a sack artist, but he’s basically the most underrated defensive player in the league.  He’s fast, he’s strong, and he’s mean.  He’s probably the best defender against the league vs the run, and he’ll get pressure on the QB as well.  You have to assume they’re licking their chops after watching us last week.

Problem 2 – Russell Wilson.  So, I’m going to be “that guy” for a moment.  The “I tried to tell everyone to draft that guy” guy that nobody likes.  As I’ve said before, I grew up in Tallahassee, FL and attended Florida State University.  I had to watch Russell Wilson torture my Seminoles for what seemed like 17 years in a row, and then MERCIFULLY the guy leaves for Wisconsin, where he went on to terrify another conference.  I was absolutely SCREAMING to draft this guy at the top of my lungs on draft day.  I remember falling down to the ground and throwing my hands up in the air like Tim Robbins from “Shawshank Redemption” while the rain poured down on my face and yelling, “WHHHHYYYYYYY?!!”  It was the absolute easiest QB decision I have literally EVER seen.  And we could’ve gotten him in the 2nd round, or even the 3rd round if we traded up a few spots.  If you’re wondering who we selected instead of Russell Wilson, you’re in luck because I’m going to tell you.  This was the vaunted 2012 draft, where we drafted Trent Richardson, Brandon Weeden, Mitchell Schwartz, John Hughes, Travis Benjamin, and lord knows who else.   I will now throw myself against a brick wall.

Russell Wilson:  73% completion,  14 total TDs (12 passing), 0 interceptions, and 1409 passing yards.

Baker Mayfield:  56% completion, 4 TDs (LOL!), 8 interceptions, and 1220 passing yards.

I’m going to make another post later that describes the problems Seattle will face, but this one’s already too long, so I’m stopping the madness.  It’s definitely not hopeless for us, but it’s also not great either.  We lost two games we really should’ve won, and now it’s time to win a game we probably should’ve lost.  We need some magic, we need some luck, and we need it at home.  If our guys don’t get back to smiling and having fun, it’s going to erupt and the fallout will be miserable for everyone.

But when it's just playmoney, like Monopoly money it makes no difference whether the "gamble" pays off or not. Worst that can happen is I have to find another "playmoney" sports betting spot.🤑
