I'm taking on all comers.....my 1.a. favorite sport of all NCAA FOOTBALL! Just stop by the COLLEGE FORUM occasionally and check out the 2019 season.

Followed very closely by 1.b The CLEVELAND BROWNS, naturally, lifetime fan.

GO BROWNS and BUCKEYES.....and don't forget about the resurging INDIANS, all playoff bound.

Like Flint.

Actually...the saying is  "In like Flynn".   It refers to the penchant for Errol Flynn to be able to secure sexual relations with under age girls.

What's the origin of the phrase 'In like Flynn'?

in like flynnThis phrase is commonly said to be a reference to Errol Flynn, the Australian film actor. Flynn was famous for his romantic swashbuckler roles in Hollywood films and for his flamboyant private life. His reputation as a hard-drinking, hell-raising ladies' man was apparently well justified, although it has doubtless been enhanced by his delight in playing up to his image. For instance, he titled his autobiography - My Wicked, Wicked Ways and also did nothing to dispel the incredible but nonetheless widespread rumours as to the the size of his penis and the number of women who had shared his bed. Flynn was acquitted in February 1943 for the statutory rape of a teenage girl.

'In like Flynn' - was that Errol Flynn?

The word in had been used with regard to success, good fortune or sexual conquest for some years prior to the 1940s; for example:

John Mills' Life Race-Horse, 1854: "The handicapper ... considerately classed me among the middle ones, and awarded 6 st. 12 lb. as my burthen. 'He's vell in,' said my owner, 'very vell in.'"

Alfred Mason's Clementina, 1901: "His luck for the moment was altogether in."

E. Wilson's Twenties, 1923: "Well, did Mr. Wilson get it in tonight?"

One thing for sure there are a lot of different activities here on THE BROWNS BOARD for whatever interests you like in the sporting world.

Besides the BROWNS FORUM itself there are INDIANS, CAVS, NCAA and various other "interesting" places to exchange ideas and information.

So JOIN IN TODAY!  Our Yahoo fantasy game players in so far as of 8-14-2019:

Well a three way tie for 1st place at 15 with a Sunday and Monday game left.

It looks like I have the tiebreaker #1 because I got the Auburn score exactly right at 27, ironically I would have had 16 points if Oregon won.

There might be no crying in baseball and there's no ties in football...... tiebreakers count for weekly winners!   :P

And then there were two with 16 headed in Monday night Mr Woody and mjp LOUISVILLE. vs NOTRE DAME.

Good week 1 close contest and good close games not the usual week 1 easy schedule.

mjp ND -20 Woody LOU +20.... kickoff time.

........edit add, ND 21-14 half,  I thought ND would blow these guys out by 21+.

ND 35 LOU 17 Final.

Need one since may be the only time mjp isn't on top...

Yes the Woodman beat me out but hey I did post the final score.

........and if  Auburn doesn't have a TD pass with 00:09 left I would have won week 1, but I'm not sore about it.

Week 2 NCAA PICK EM should be interesting......no make that hard! Out of 25 games only 3 off games (2 last week instead of the usual 5) and 10 double digit games so 12 close games.

It looks like the they have a lot of good games the first two weeks of the 2019 season. Good luck we'll need it!

........oh and unlike the stogy ol' NFL in 16 games there have been only 3 line moves in 3 days, boring!   -_-

WEEK 2 results, The Great Zomboni won with 14-9-2 in a tricky week. Woody leads the pack with 30 after a good week 1.

Oh and us losers went 10-13-2 with 2 pushes this week.

Couple o' three very nice matchups this week...

  • Michigan @ Wisconsin (-3)
  • Auburn @ TAMU (-4)
  • ND @ UGA (-13.5)

Last one strikes me as a very tough pick.

In our 25 team pick em only 5 double digit games, hmmmmm. Some big conference matchups.

Co=leader at the quarter-pole would seem to be mojo-ish...

Diehard wins the week with a 16 spot.

Yeah but I haven't won a single week yet.

Meanwhile diehard got the last pick correct to win the week and avoid a three-way tie at 15 and have go to the dreaded tiebreakers. Here was the rough finish for the rest of us..... remember no crying in football.
