A generation that grows up dealing with Society through a handheld screen doesn't become as socialized. Didn't anybody notice a nasty turn of a corner when Grand Theft Auto came out? When you can play at beating hookers to death and watching their blood spatter on the street ? Didn't that kick it up a notch over shooting Monsters and Aliens? Really? Of course there are plenty of other factors one of which the instant Fame and notoriety a kid can add to his miserable and useless life takes things to a new height. Like a wild west Outlaw collecting wanted posters these kids have their life story tools to millions and millions of people every few minutes. I have no doubt that Woody can play any video game he wants and not be pushed any closer to mass violence. That's probably true with all but one out of 50 million people. But when we talk about mass shootings we are talking about that exact one person out of 50 million. So basically anything I say or anybody else says is going to wind up being bulshit anyhow. I would hope that some changes could be made to HIPAA laws to make background checks cover mental health issues in the past. As it stands, you get a question that asks if you have or currently have been deemed "mentally adjudicated" and you can lie your ass off without any means to confirm or rule it out by the person running the background check. There are mass slaying going on all over the world, daily. You just never hear about it. Daily is probably an exaggeration but do the math and you’ll see a small fraction of a percent are affected by these killers. We advertise the psychos, they have always been around though.
