I understand, Bob, I am a big pro union guy - far more back in the earlier days. I do have a problem with your negotiating part, especially on gov employee unions negotiating. I remember the reason I enlisted into the Air Force, was because Goodrich shut down, and there were a couple thousand people looking for every job that might come available, and my Dad's plant in another company was going to be going on a huge, very nasty strike. that, btw, is after I was permanently 2A, unable to be drafted, determined during the draft process in 1970.

Unions, like the air traffic controllers can NOT be allowed to strike. If they do, when they don't get every single "negotiating point" granted, a lot of people could die. etc. They should have NO leverage to negotiate with, regardless of the legitimacy of their complaint/request.

NOTE: there should be hell to pay if a gov union is not treated properly/fairly - gov execs should lose their positions, whatever.

You need to differentiate between gov employee unions, and private sector unions. Gov employee unions cannot be allowed to strike, as in the air traffic controllers. Fed air marshals. Yes, firemen, etc etc etc.

Even social security - homeland security, irs.....Bob, am I missing something here? You help pay taxes to pay the salaries of government management, and you pay the taxes to pay government employees. A gov union is you helping you "negotiate" against yourself.

I find great fault in you not voting for any rep  until they give you the power to negotiate in a gov employee union.

You'd sent your country further towards socialism, crime, illegal immigration, etc etc etc, further into the gigantic, dangerous national debt...

...because your union can't have the power to strike if their negotiations aren't working in your favor?

Just my goofy opinion - gov employee unions should never have been allowed. Unions end up being political PAC's pretty quickly, based on their own greed and desire for more power.

My opinion, since if you do have gov unions, I'd say their purpose should be, to elect a board, of their own choosing, that they can go to, to fight for fairness and negotiate with whoever, for funding. If whoever in the gov doesn't listen, the board would have the right to take their case to Congress, who had better listen or they lose a lot of votes.

If you think air traffic controllers should have had the right to strike/walk out... let me know, and I'll just be shocked. I don't think you mean that - it's just your all in support seems to not take that into consideration.

Gov unions have no business being a union able to strike, and the gov, our gov, should not be held hostage by gov employee unions.

Granted, not being treated fairly is any union's strength. But take it from a former boss while I was employed as a consultant -

he was salary then, but "grew up" in the big tire company in the union. He told me back in tho early days, the company would never have given them the decent wages and good insurance, the wonderful lives they deserved, if they didn't have the union in tough negotiations with the company. But later on, years later, he came to see that the unions kept raking in big dues, and kept raising their huge salaries. And live was awesome. There was never any need for the union. Except the union kept creating little extravagances to fight about, trying to justify their existence. And the demands started to shut the company down more and more.

It closed the manufacturing at the plant. He ended up having zero respect for the union.

I get it. As a kid, I went to a big strike - the company wanted to take back some benefit, and it was really wrong for them to try. So, we sat around having hotdogs, donuts, pop, iced tea in front of the entrance gate. By "we" it was about 20 guys, including my Dad, and me. The company realized they couldn't get away with an unfair demand, and relented.

But that is a private company. A government employee union - has far too serious a leverage over the "management".

Fire and police are not allowed to strike, for obvious reasons.

In regards to your comment, that I highlighted in orange, they do allow us to negotiate but as you may recall, they tried to take that away with SB5 in 2011. We had to do a grassroots effort to repeal it, and we did. That left a bitter taste in my mouth.

And on a serious note Woody, it's a very small fraction of people that react two constant cries of racism, you seem to be one oh, but everybody that does already hates the guy. Think about it why does it always have to be about skin color for you? What have these four bitches were some other color? I know you think all dark people are the same but they aren't.   Ah. So I was missing something. They can't strike. But there are other problems -

Your public sector unions must be treated fairly. But is it fair to force a family of four to have their tax burden skyrocket to where they cannot continue to keep their homes? send their kids to a Christian school? Pursue their own happiness?

Sure, you get MORE money to live on. All the rest of the citizens get LESS money to live on, Bob.

I'm not buyin it. I still don't get it. I'm against public sector unions. I'm against unfair treatment of public sector employees, hugely.

but unions just are not the answer. Your "right" to negotiate is benefitting you, at the expense of all the families who are not in the public sector unions.

I can't buy what you are selling Bob. I don't get it. I see greed and self-benefit at the cost of all taxpayers, many who can't afford to keep having their taxes raised.

https://www.heritage.org/jobs-and-labor/report/how-government-unions-affect-state-and-local-finances-empirical-50-state

"Expanding our analysis to use panel data for the entire country from 1957 to 2011, we find that mandatory collective bargaining increases government compensation, with little offsetting reduction in overall government employment. Instead, total state and local government spending increases by approximately $600 per person, per year. This represents a $2,300 greater annual tax burden on the average family of four.

Bayesian analysis shows an even larger effect, with mandatory collective bargaining increasing the cost of government operations by more than $750 per person, per year. This represents a $3,000 greater annual tax burden on the average family of four.

Across the United States, government unions increased spending by state and local governments by almost $127 billion in 2014, according to our regression results, and by $164 billion, according to our Bayesian results. These cost increases are concentrated in the states that grant the most aggressive powers to union leaders."

All company assets should be fairly compensated!  A proper union can work with the same importance, if not more, than most of management.  Customer give two shits how smart a CEO blah blah is they care about the product and price.  You can argue that some non union companies pay just as much or maybe more but safety, discrimination and cock sucking needs representation, true representation.  HR is the biggest joke and just another title for a henchman.

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so fucking crazy you can't follow their rules
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty-odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and classless and free
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see
A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

These are the typical Steve posts that warrant no response. Too much telling me what I think. I'm not doing this back and forth where I have to start in a hole because of typical Steve nonsense only to have my response ignored.

So as Trump continues his racism such as his still held belief that the now exonerated black Central Park 5 should be executed for their crimes that he still believes they committed, the birther bullshit, the send them back to their own countries, etc., then supporters can continue to deny it through this well known process called cognitive dissonance. The same applies to the continued lack of moral character, the dishonesty/pathological lying, etc. If it doesn't fit that you can support someone like that, then he just can't be like that despite all evidence to the contrary. Because what does that say about your own character if you continue to support such a person? Hope this adds to that dissonance until you finally recognize what is obvious to those who recognize exactly what we see, a morally reprehensible man in the presidency. How's that for an honest opinion cal?

"President Donald Trump’s tweet proposing that four Democratic congresswomen of color — three of them born in the United States, one a naturalized citizen — “go back” to the “totally broken and crime infested places from which they came” was textbook racism. "

****************

And to leave out the full quote where Trump said to go back to their countries and fix them and then come back here is textbook corrupt journalism because the last part of what Trump said doesn't support the narrative then just leave it out.......

And at at point whatever silly argument you wanted to make is off the rails. Constantly squealing about racism doesn't impress anybody oh, and the ones that care hate Trump anyway. Besides the fact that it's bullshit.

And frankly if it was your niece daughter sister wife Etc you would want the Central Park five butchered no matter what color they were.

Your opinion is rife with bigotry as usual. The now exonerated.... I sneeze in the direction of your nonsense.

Here's why:

1. New York - liberal corrupt politics

2. Chicago - Jesse Smollet - liberal corrupt politics

3. There was not five, There was a lot of them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Park_jogger_case

The Central Park jogger case was a criminal case based on the assault and rape of Trisha Meili, a 28-year-old white woman who was jogging in the park, and attacks on eight other persons, in areas ranging from the North Woods of Manhattan's Central Park to the Reservoir, on the night of April 19, 1989. Three of the victims were black or Hispanic.[1] Meili was so injured that she was in a coma for 12 days. The New York Times in 1990 described the attack on her as "one of the most widely publicized crimes of the 1980s".[2]

Attacks in Central Park that night were allegedly committed by a loose group of 30–32 teenagers, and police attempted to apprehend suspects after crimes began to be reported between 9 and 10 pm. The brutally beaten Meili was not found until 1:30 am, after which the police hunt greatly intensified. They took into custody 14 or more other suspects over the next few days, and arrested a total of ten suspects who were ultimately tried for the attacks. Among them were four African American and two Hispanic American teenagers who were indicted on May 10 on charges of assault, robbery, riot, rape, sexual abuse, and attempted murder of Meili and an unrelated man, John Loughlin. The prosecutor planned to try the defendants in two groups, then scheduled the sixth defendant to be tried last. The latter pleaded guilty in January 1991 on lesser charges and received a reduced sentence.

Prosecution of the five remaining defendants in the rape and assault case was based primarily on confessions which they had made after police interrogations. None had counsel during this questioning. Within weeks, they each withdrew these confessions, pleaded not guilty, and refused plea deals on the rape and assault charges. Each of the suspects' DNA was excluded from matching the DNA collected from the crime scene: two samples that both belonged to one unidentified man. No substantive physical evidence connected any of the five teenagers to the rape scene, but each was convicted in 1990 of related assault and other charges. Subsequently known as the Central Park Five, they received stiff sentences ranging from 5 to 15 years. Four of the defendants appealed their convictions, but these were affirmed by appellate courts. The four juvenile defendants served 6–7 years each; the 16-year-old, tried and sentenced as an adult, served 13 years in adult prison. The five other defendants indicted for assaults of other victims pleaded guilty to reduced charges and received much less severe sentences.

In 2001, Matias Reyes, a convicted murderer and serial rapist serving life in prison, confessed to officials that he had raped the female jogger. His DNA matched that found at the scene, and he provided other confirmatory evidence. He said he committed the rape alone.[3] Reyes was not prosecuted for raping Meili, because the statute of limitations had passed. In 2002 Robert Morgenthau, District Attorney for New York County, had his office conduct an investigation and recommended to the state court that the convictions of the five men on all charges be vacated. The court vacated their convictions in 2002, and the state withdrew all charges against the men.

***************************************************

4. why were they exonerated? Robert Morgenthau, District Attorney for New York County, was a liberal DEMOCRAT that's why.

5. The author of your stupid link, is a bigoted hack. She doesn't support her allegations any more than you do. Just slander/libel/hit crap that you can't show a reason for it being spewed in the first place.

6. Birther BS? His own grandmother back in Kenya says he was born in Kenya, you idiot.

https://www.conservapedia.com/Obama_birth_certificate_controversy

A 1991 publisher's biography used to promote the memoir Dreams From My Father states that Obama was born in Kenya.[2]

7. Your own link, Texsag - you know Kathleen Vohls judges obama?

by the clothes he wears. Not by his lies, his scandals, his racism, his leftwing and racial division of our country...

nope. by how he dresses so nice.

8. I don't condone who President Trump was in the past. Never liked him. I didn't initially support him for president at all.

Until I listened to him, and decided he was sincere about our country. For all your fake outrage vs Pres 'Trump, you won't condemn any of the jihad four, any democrat. That's just dishonest. Check your own lack of morality in politics.

9. You surely didn't catch it - but Sidney Blumenthal, the fake veteran, and your dirtbag corrupt mental case higgardly clinton investigated obaMao commie for the same thing - where he was born.

10. On a scale of one to ten, about legit politics....you are a .5
