Need to get someone back there who can take out some MFers

No reason he can’t be realized in the 2nd round

per Ian Rapoport.. Kindred was claimed off waivers by the Colts..Chris Ballard gm of the colts was once scouts working together with John Dorsey..the Colts are near the bottom of the waiver wire claim line..so many teams passed on Kindred, maybe relying on draft

The problem is They will not allow a modern day Jack Tatum to play in this league. Or probably even Ronnie Lott or name any of the hard-hitting safeties in the history of this league

the days of the thumper safety are long gone.  sounds like Wilks prefers 2 versatile safeties that can both cover, and kindred certainly cannot cover.

Sadly you're right...

Eric Berry would be my Day 1 starter on a 1 yr deal if he hasn't signed with a team yet..

Yeah, Berry would obviously be our day one starter. But we can't count on him to stay healthy. You only bring him in if you have a viable Plan "B" in the (likely) event he gets injured again.  With no reports as of yet with him visiting the Browns, it's pretty obvious Dorsey isn't all that hot on adding him to the roster.  And we've been bringing in plenty of draft prospects for a look-see instead.

Wrong...

Wrong...

Wrong...

Hitting is still allowed it simply cannot be as random as it once was.

... and unfortunately Murray can't "cover" either. At least Kindred could hit.

Have you not watched football the past 5 years and seen how many PI, unsportsmanlike, hit on defenseless receiver,  and illegal contact calls go against DBs?

Asks the guy who somehow injected "PI", "unsportmanlike" and "illegal contact" into a discussion about "hitting".

I did edit my comment and put in "hit on defenseless receivers... but you must of missed that..

You are wrong though.. Hitting is not how it used to be.. Seen PLENTY of hits get flagged that looked clean..

Agree... and that is an argument for replay review per the college game.

Point is that the target area is smaller than it once was and the circumstances are fewer, e..g, your "defenseless" edit (which was made after I quoted your post), but within those restrictions is still contact as hard as you remember from the "old days".

There has been a pretty overt attempt to neuter the big hits in the NFL with rule changes and such, and then you compound that with the element of human error with referees trying to micromanage where players’ body parts are in relation to other players’ body parts during fast paced play and high speed collisions, and it really gets to be a bit of a clusterfuck.

l mean, you’ll see a defender lunge at a ball carrier, and at the time of lunging the defender’s helmet wasn’t on a path to hit the other player’s helmet, but the ball carrier trips or something so by the time contact happens, boom, helmets graze and flags are thrown. And you see shit like that all the time. And it’s noble trying to look out for the players’ health and all, but how do you realistically officiate stuff like that?

So despite a player’s best intentions, shit like that happens. And now they’re the big asshole who gave the other team a first down and kept their drive alive. And they don’t wanna be that asshole. They start thinking about “playing aggressive, but not TOO aggressive”.

I mean l get that the rules ate the rules, and it’s a contact sport and all. But it’s also the rules as interpreted by fallable people, and in the great scheme of winning football games the players can’t help but be aware of that to manipulate the situation as best as possible.
