THE BROWNS BOARD

A win win situation

Here's a cool story for us all. Nicotine isn't the boogeyman. It's the 799 other chemicals that big tobacco formulated into the cigarettes to make them more addictive. Which is why most people can have a cigar or pipe and not immediately want another one. But #capitalism meant that big companies "just had" to figure out a way to make tobacco like crack cause #capitalism.

In Japan they put nicotine in energy drinks because it's a better stimulant than caffeine. It doesn't agitate ur heart and theres no crash like from caffeine.

Our brand of capitslism has really kind of deprived us of some good shit. Lije in south America tgey give cocoa leaves soaked in lemon or lime to tourists going up tall mountains to help them combat altitude sickness. And we all know what they're getting from the cocoa leaves right?

With all the horrible shit about cigarettes and how terrible they are for you on and on and especially how stupid you are if you still smoke you got to admit there was a time that cigs were pretty damn cool!

Oh come on, tell me Bogart with a glass of whiskey and a Chesterfield James Bond with a martini and a custom Turkish cig or Mike Hammer with a four roses and ginger ale and a Lucky Strike aren't cooler than Pajama Boy.

I think there'd be a running theme on the type of people that would prefer the old days

Good for you. My father quit after about 50+ years, but died of a heart attack anyway just a few years after he quit. I'm lucky I never got interested and in casinos I move away from smokers. Just can't stand the smell. Fortunately Winstar has an excellent ventilation system as well as one isolated end of the casino that has most of the slots of the other areas in a totally smoke free room that requires going up a hallway with two isolating sets of door. Great idea!

No just Humphrey Bogart James Bond and Mike Hammer were cool . And Elvis and Sinatra and the Beatles and Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. And Jackie Gleason and Milton Berle and Steve Allen. And on and on and on.

No need to be so defensive of your millennials in 70 or 80 years we'll see which of your icons have stood the test of time. I'm sure there will be some. Just for fun who do you think the coolest guys of your generation are?

Remember the cigarettes in the C rations?  The lucky ones got the marlboro's.  4 cigs per pack. .

I always bartered those off to smokers for other C-rat goodies. Kids today think a P-38 was a famous aircraft from WW II. Army guys know different.😁

Daniel Craig with a Vesper was pretty cool IIRC.

When I was a young kid about the third grade, my cousin and I went out one afternoon, hiked over to this old guy's orchard, climbed an apple tree, and were eating apples. He brought a Winston pack, with one last cig in it, he stole from his parents, and lit it. He was trying to learn to smoke, and I took a big puff on it, and gagged. Gave it back to him, he gagged and coughed, and then the old guy, looked like Jimmy Durante, came down the row yelling that he was going to call the police and have us arrested, so we jumped down, took off running. Got to the street, and I said I was never smoking again, that crap is awful. Never smoked again in my life. But we did sneak back out at night once or twice, to get a few apples again, but then never back. Man, that old guy had a bright flashlight.
