In this episode

‘If it’s an epidemic, then treat it like an epidemic.’
Despite mounting deaths and warnings of a new turn in the opioid epidemic, an investigation by The Post found that the Obama administration did little to confront an extraordinary crisis. Reporters Scott Higham, Sari Horwitz and Katie Zezima tell the story of how federal officials missed the country’s growing fentanyl problem.

The fentanyl crisis is solely based in run away crony capitslism. It started in the early 2000's but I'm far too intelligent to lay ANY blame on the Bush administration for a system of systemic corruption involving lobbyists that has been in place since before even most of the old timers here were born

So that would put a new spin on the blind opposition to border security from the Democrats. At least I can understand good old fashioned greed.

good old 60 liberal minutes - you can count on them every time....

2 days ago - Federal officials saw fentanyl as an appendage to the overall opioid crisis rather than a unique threat that required its own targeted strategy.

from the link above:

"

The person who phoned Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty was Mary Jo White — a fact reported in only one place, as a detail in this 2007 article in The Washington Post. A former US Attorney for the Southern District, White was by the time of Brownlee’s settlement discussion a lawyer in private practice at Debevoise & Plimpton.

In 2013, President Barack Obama nominated White to serve as chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Her crass political intervention in the single most devastating case of corporate fraud in the modern era did nothing to deter Obama from putting her name forward to serve as a watchdog of Wall Street, nor did it strike Senate staff vetting her for confirmation as worthy of mention.

Because having watched 2 people die within the past 14 months from fentanyl related substances really doesn't inspire confidence.

well, what did you think of the links, Tiam?

Apparently regulating the free market is ok only if a conservative does it

In some cases that's probably true. I would imagine most oxy and Fentanyl addict vote Democrat. Just because Republicans preach about making it harder to get. I remember when my favorite hillbilly Democrats found out they couldn't go to two different doctors and get oxycodone they just about shit the bed. They wanted to lynch John Kasich.

Yeah Steve, I'm sure the rural hillybillys came out swinging for Obama. Tge fentanyl crisis lies pretty much in the epicenter of trump's base. It lies all over the place ofc, but the core base of addicts are the rural maga folk who have probably been led to believe the coloreds are somehow responsible for their addictions

Haven't had a chance to read them.  I've been trying to compose some stuff for my Devin White pt 2.

But because you went to such great lengths, I will take the time to read them and get back to you.  At my word.

And they are. As matter of fact each and every addict is responsible for his or her problems.

And you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about as per usual.

Why do people keep bringing up junk from the past? It’s been years since Obama was in office

Focus on your agenda.  Let the past go
